Thanks, I appreciate it. However, how it looks in-game is what matters. I lined up the chin, mouth, nose, original eyes to the other texture above, but added real eyes in the bottom left corner. Sometimes that works, and sometimes it doesn't... and sometimes just a few small tweaks make it work.

So, if anybody gives this texture a try, please show how it looks in-game so I, or anybody else can fix it up.

Sorry, I cannot. I don't own the game, all I can do is make the bhed texture image. I might get NBA-LIVE 06 and be a regular member of this community. I have no plans to get LIVE 2005 though.

I'm not sure how different or how similar NHL 2005 is with NBA-LIVE 2005 with the files, but here is what I'd do to get the image into the game:

1) Find out from Courtney which player model he used

2) In FshX, override texture with mine (size will adjust automatically)

3) Grab the player's EBO files and change the value number to a new one of your choice (make sure it isn't shared by any other player)

4) Import and compress it in the proper folders and files with BigGUI

5) Using an editor, find your created player and reassign the cyberface value to the one you just set

That's how it's done with the hockey game. I'm sure it must be similar with NBA, it's really simple to do.

To Courtney: I hope I didn't step on your toes here, I'm thinking what I did was wrong, so please forgive me. I won't re-create other people's cybers anymore, I'll only take requests that haven't been done yet.

I was bored today, so I made new teeth textures for the BHED textures. I don't know how much this matters in-game (in NHL 2005, you see teeth when the player's mouth moves, but it's really quick, this wouldn't be noticable).. but if NBA-LIVE 2005 shows teeth more, this might look good. I made it because I was bored.

One thing for sure, it looks nice in the BHED! When does NBA-LIVE 06 come out? I am getting both NHL and NBA games this year from EA and make cybers for both games.

:D check out my new hi-res teeth and compare it to the one above!

Hey Brad, welcome to out site/forum. (y)

NBA Live 06 presumably comes out early October; some sources say late September though. Have a look here.
It'd be great to have you around patching then, the more the merrier. You seem to be great at patching also.

By the way, very nice new teeth (y)

I don't mean to be the grouchy veteran to the newcomer but it's easy to make things look good on bheds. Blending is easy. The most taxing thing in NBA Live cyberfaces is the alignment of the facial features and adapting to the mapping of the headshape itself. You do have uncannily excellent blending techniques so I suggest you start putting the bheds on headshapes and tweaking and you'll be one hell of a patcher.

I've been making cybers for EA's NHL series for years, including NHL 2005 and I hear what you're saying. The textures for NBA I'm making here are aligned to the bheds - the eyes, nose, mouth - all of them I have matched onto it. True I don't have the game, but I will get NBA 06 and make a few cybers during the year.

Yes I agree, blending is easy.. but I find aligning is also easy. Here's some more of my work - on the hockey game (which is the same style as NBA-LIVE cybers):

Nice work.

Well aligning was easy last year when we had the proper tools to do so. This year, however, all the adjustments have to be on the bhed itself so it's quite a chore. :(

I'm really assuming that NBA LIVE 2005 is similar to NHL 2005 cybers.

With NHL 2005: Cybers consist of two files - the texture image (you guys call it fhed, where in hockey it's FAC). The other file is the verticals, in the format of EBO. Last year in NHL 2004, the EBO files was two different ones - ORD and ORL, and with that somebody made an editor. We could shape the skull all we wanted - you could make a Jay Leno chin, a pinnocio nose, round, flat, etc. This year we couldn't touch the new (ebo) files... so all year round it was just making these FAC, or fhed images.

We had to learn to align the eyes, nose, mouth, etc properly for it to look good, and we had to determine the best model.. just as I see the conversation going on here. With the hockey game, NHL 2005, that's all was needed - the FAC image... do it right and you have a great cyber.

I understand that there's another file for hair in NBA??? With hockey, they're wearing helmets, so there is no separate hair file. But other than that, these textures I'm making here should map out pretty good in the game. I'm just assuming though. Maybe someone could confirm it...

Thanks everybody,
Brad
