Does anybody use legends on Dynasty?

Tue Jun 07, 2005 6:50 am

I had signed Wilt Chamberlain and used him in Dynasty Mode and to my surprise he retired right after the first season.

Anything I could do to fix this problem? I'm thinking editing his age say 20 I don't know.

Please help me guys.

Perhaps it has to do with the years he's played in the league; try lowering that and see if it works better. (y)

Strange, legends don't usually retire unless you change their ISHISTORIC value to False. If you leave it as True, they shouldn't retire. Otherwise, edit his age so he's around 20.

Finally, Andrew is wrong :) I had saved a copy of my franchise before the off-season, so I went ahead and reload it the file and Wilt, MJ and Dr. J still retired after the first season even though their "ISHISTORIC" value is set to False.

Afterward, I proceeded to plan B. I only changed Wilt's age making him being born back in 1985, being drafted 3rd overall in 2003 by Philadelphia and with a year of experience (current season), saved the players.dbf file, back to the game, reload it the file and BINGO! MJ and Dr. J retired but NOT WILT :)

In conclusion, I think age and years of experience are decisive factors on whether or not a player retires.

I never had to worried about this in Nba Live 2000. I guess Nba Live 2005 processor is more intelligent becoming more and more like a human brain :D

Again - they retire if their ISHISTORIC value is set to false. At least it's been that way since NBA Live 2000. But yes, age remains a factor in when a player retires, as it always has.

I'm sorry I didn't make myself cleared the first time.

I said their "ISHISTORIC" value was set to True and they still retired by the end of the first season. However when I changed Wilt's birthdate to make him younger and so on he did not retired and continue his career through the second season. And like I said I only changed his age and left alone the other two legends and they did retired but Wilt. :D

Alright then, I guess it's changed this year. In that case, editing the age is the only option.
