ive adjusted ratings for lebron james several times and i finally got a version of him that averages his numbers from this year and get this...
he's rated 97!
i ran a season simulation with the cavs 20 times and his stats were at these extreems using the ratings i came up with
low end high end
24.4 27.6 ppg
6.8 8.1 ast
6.5 7.8 reb
2.1 2.5 stl
.65 1.1 blk
when i added up each of the stats (20 seasons worth of each) and divided by 20 ..... the season averages were amazingly similar to james's performance this year
ppg 27.2
reb 6.9
ast 7.3
stl 2.28
blk .71
fg% .48.1
3p% .348
ft% .74
compared to his current season in the nba....
ppg 27
reb 7.2
ast 7.2
stl 2.23
blk .65
fg% .475
3p% .352
FT% .75
these are my adjusted player ratings, and they work very well and will give you realistic simulations for bron
75 fg 70 3p 75 ft 98 dnk 80 ins
25 oreb 95 jmp 80 str 85 spd 85 qui
90 pass 90 drib 90 o.aw 40 dreb 99 stl
15 blk 45 d.aw 99sta 99har 99 pri
i put his primacy all the way up so that his fg% wouldnt get too high, but he would still score 26-28 pts
stamina all the way up because he's tops in the league in minutes played
and hardiness all the way up because, well, he hasnt been injured yet, and i didnt want him to in my simulations
i think his atheletic attributes are much better represented, he's quicker than vince carter, but not as quick as kobe for example... and he's alot stronger than either.
i dont think he's a great defender yet, but the only way to get him so many steals (he's 3rd in the league) was to max out his steal rating and keep his def aware low. his blocks are low because his jumping ability gets him most of his blocks...
97 overall... i know it might sound high, but he's just that good
look at the stats for jordans rookie year when he was 21 years old
lebron is 20 and im going by how many years each has had to develop, not which season is thier rookie year
james jordan
ppg 27 28.2
reb 7.2 6.5
ast 7.2 5.9
stl 2.23 2.39
blk .65 .84
similar? we already know lebron is a better 3point shooter at this age, and he is a better passer and rebounder...
i think this is scary folks
next year lebron averages??? i will predict...
ppg 30
reb 8
ast 8
stl 2.5
blk 1.0
before his career is over i bet he will have a 30ppg 10rpg 10apg,2spg,2bpg season
wouldnt that be something special
sorry if stuff bunches together... i didnt know how to make lists

Nice job
I'll probably use these myself. A bit many 99's for my liking, though, as I think it's possible to be better than 'Bron in some of those categories - but that's just my opinion...

Well if you adjust the other players on the Cavs to 48-59 you'll get similar results I think.
Lebron is good but his numbers are so high because his teammates are sucking right now. That's what happens when you fire a good coach in the middle of the season the whole team falls apart except for the star.
Sun Apr 17, 2005 11:50 am
actually, when i started tweeking, the cavs were playing well, and lebron's numbers were about the same
Mon Apr 25, 2005 8:30 pm
Hi, you mention primacy. What is this?
Tue Apr 26, 2005 6:44 am
primacy means how much the team relies on that particular player to take shots, thats my understanding. all the high scoring players in the leauge have a 90 to 99 primacy rating. i think it also refers to how often a play gets called for that player and who gets the ball when the game is on the line
Tue Apr 26, 2005 10:37 am
That's correct. Higher Primacy ratings result in the player taking more shots in gameplay and ensuring they're amongst the top scorers in simulation.

As I've said before... We could be looking at the next player who could actually average a triple-double over a season stretch. If they get some quality help in Cleveland his scoring might come down a bit, but his assists and rebounds would probably go trough the roof as he wouldn't be the only guy on that team the defense has to worry about.
LeBron could average a triple-double... A first since Oscar Robertson...
"Could" is the operative word... The team around him must improve to get him there. This summer will be most intresting for the Cavaliers and James fans... I really hope they get some quality help for him so he'll show us what he's really made of. His numbers next season are a big question mark as the team will probably change quite a lot this summer...
One of the more intresting sub-plots for this summer...

Thanks, so for example this years Bulls, would anyone know how to calculate the correct primacy numbers for the players?
Thanks

you cannot even compare james to jordan, jordan could read the game like nobody else. james is just another bryant who also cannot win games on his own like jordan did.
the reason why james did score so much is because they dont have anyone else who could, when the bulls had pippen.
Sat May 14, 2005 8:36 pm
you cannot compare them! they are good players in their respective time. no offense to you jiggawhat but i think james is better than kobe, as he is humble, unlike kobe (sorry kobe fans), and james needs to have a better coach. i like those three, jordan, james, and bryant.
Sat May 14, 2005 11:52 pm
i meant that both, kobe already and james yet are not even half as good as jordan was.
there are loads of players which were and still are better than james, james just created much hype due to his age and the fact he was like 10x as good as anyone else at college
Sun May 15, 2005 2:00 am
ah... yeah, ur right about that. they both still have a long way to equal or surpass what jordan did.
Mon May 16, 2005 8:18 am
good but now can you make steve nash average double digit assist in sim

You say it like LeBron is nothing special. To me, if someone has a chance to accomplish what Jordan did, it would be LeBron.
LeBron has a bad team with him, as did Jordan early in his career.
Sun May 29, 2005 11:40 am
yeah jordan in his second year was sub- .500 record for his team. lebron this year and a year younger was above .500 for the Cavs. it took jhordan 6 years i believe for a championship. (correct me if im wrong) so give him some time, will ya?
Sun May 29, 2005 2:53 pm
jordan won his 1st championship in his 7th season. lebron's suffering what jordan suffered in his early years: bad coach & bad set of teammates.
