I'm the Cavs at home playing against former Cavs center Zydrunas Ilgauskas and his new team, the Memphis Grizzlies.
Both teams got off to a reasonable start, with Kwame Brown setting the tone for Cleveland with his scoring and DOMINATE rebounding. The lead was never any bigger than 5 points in the 1st. In the 2nd, I started pulling away and got the lead up to 12, but from then, it was all Memphis, as they hit shot after shot, and I couldn't buy a lay-up. Before I knew it, I was down by 3 entering the half time break.
Memphis continued their great play with an all round team effort and eventually had their own 12 point lead. From there til mid way through the 4th, it was an even game. Come the 6 minute mark of the 4th quarter, LeBron James had enough of his team losing on his own court, so he knew it was up to him to bring them back, and that he did! LeBron dominated both ends of the court getting the lead down to just 2 points. But then it went to 6, back to 2, up to 6, it was like that for about 3 minutes, then the Cavs locked down an tied the ball game. Next play, Kwame Brown threw down 2 of his 26 points and finally Cleveland was back in front. But then on the Grizzlies last position with the Cavs up 2, Mike Miller drained a 3 pointer with 7 seconds left. Cavs down one, but they don't call a timeout. LeBron pushes the ball the length of the floor, crosses up Miller, goes for the game winner, misses, but gets fouled and goes to the line with 0.5 seconds to go.
1st FT is good, nothing but net! The crowd is going nuts!
2nd FT nothing but net! Cavs up 1, the crowd gets even louder!
Miller inbounds to Big Z at half court, but by the time he sets himself, time has run out. Cavs win 124-123! LeBron James had 31 of his 50 points in the 4th quarter. Kwame Brown was huge for Cleveland with 26 points and 26 rebounds.
POTG- LeBron James- 50pts, 2reb, 6ast, 6stl, 5blk
