more on how they can shoot? I was able to use Q. richardson recently. Before, when i play suns, he would often miss. :x Then a friend told me to set-shot. it actually increased the odds of 3's going in. :)

was just a random thought. hehehehe..

I agree about the q-rich point (as I have a suns dynasty going) but there's not really that much difference in set/jump shooting for most players.

I have Q, Rafer, Jamal Crawford, and Redd on my dynasty. The most effective play to catchup is drive and dish kickout to Redd. (Y)

It is when you release at almost the peak of your jump. Something like an early release but just right. Jump shot is when you release at the peak. (in the game)

Kyle Korver - Set

Lebron James; Desmond Mason, Josh Smith, Josh Childress, (Gilbert Arenas I THINK) - Jump

I wondered why the animations and timing were different

Yeah definately, I thought at first that Korvers jump was very low but if you hit a good looking shot Korvers arm swings as you jump and releases at the top instead of releasing in one motion at the top

hey man i was IvErSoN 280592 online from last year... remember how some people dont release at the top of their jump, and instead shoot in the middle or around there? thats what a "set shooter" is...

hey sup i remember u :chug:

but i still dont understand this concept... its hard for me to notice a difference in shooting because this year the shooting style is much more "mild" if i could put it that way... its much more smooth. last year if i would double clutch it would be very obvious that i did it, and i could adjust

this year i dont even notice it wen i double clutch... because the player barely even does it, all he does is release it late. his legs dont really kick out or anything... so its hard for me to notice

thats y its hard for me to see a difference in releases. i cant really notice it unless i pay CLOSE attention in replays

Is this a difference in how they shoot in the game? I haven't noticed too much difference.

IMO Arenas can do both, but it's a bit easier to jump shoot.

I use Yao and Dwight Howard, and I find it much more difficult to jump shot. Are they both set shooters?

What particular stat(s) define/s which style? And what stat(s) define/s whether the player shoots fine or ugly? (compare Sheed and Yao)

@sixerfan03
IMO it's easier to perform and time the shot if you do what they're better at. But percentage-wise, there's no difference.
