defense walls!

Anyone else notice that you can't just run around the defence? even if you're lebron running around shaq... there is always some invisible wall like a foot around the player.... then you gotta do some stupid move (which there aren't that many of) to get around them!

And when you're a big man like shaq... you can't dribble the ball, so it's hard to go around ppl since he won't just jump over the person like in real life!

Fix This for 2006 EA!!! (make more moves available as well)

Go play like NBA Live 98 or something... There you could always get past your defender.

It's there to raise the difficulty... It's not that easy to get around guys in real life... And you're talking about Shaq... He's one of the more mobile centers out there... He can move when he needs to... He's just so big that people always regard him as a slow player too. This is why Shaq is so dominant... He is the strongest and the fastest center out there... There's no one else like him.

And Shaq doesn't just jump over people... He almost never does... He pushes them back a bit to get them off balance and then takes the shot... Sure dunks hard on some plays, but there's basically never a player between him and the basket... When he does this, he first pushes the guy out of the way and then dunks it... Shaq can't and won't jump over people like Vinsanity did in the 2000 olympics (still the craziest dunk I've ever seen)...

I understand what you're saying, but that is kinda how it's supposed to be. Now there are times when it seems like they're letting guys hold people they know they're not supposed to be able to defend. And there are a few big guys who do seem to move a lil too fast and quick, but even sorry defenders stay in front of thier man a lot of the time.

Ya but also what I mean in the game... Is that just say "shaq" is like 15 feet away from the basket... And I give an inside pass to just say "webber" who's like 5 feet away....no matter what in this game... Shaq will be in front of my guy even before the pass reaches me... or magically block it when im already in motion to dunk it....

Stuff like that insn't realistic and should be.....

I know what ya mean. EA games always have an element of the computer predicting or instantly reacting to what you do

I understand EXACTLY what you are saying, so i took matters into my own hands, i edited players speed's i made a huge gap between PF and C's to guards sf etc, to make it level out the play. So you won't have Mutombo stopping speedy claxton from getting by consistently.

The thing isn't the speed, it's the reaction time to everything IMO. If you cross a player up, it takes the opponent the same ammount of time to recover from the move as it takes you to recover from doing the move so it's useless. And even if you do turn the freestyle effectiveness to 99 or whatever it still does not effect the reaction time. It's the same problem that was rampant last year: players getting 'stuck' in an animation. And it's ghey to the max.
