Is it normal for dunk 0 guys to alley-hoop :P

Mon Feb 28, 2005 8:33 am

Yeah well playing with fantasy draft here and have Jason Williams as my PG for Orlando. He is playing good and all along with MJ and such...

What he did was dunk, alley hoop dunk from an air pass two handed into the basket... He has dunking on 0 as his rating...

Using 1.07 NLSC rosters :P

Is this normal? First time I see something like this :P
Im ten games into the season and he has had plenty of opportunities, laying in all the time... Now he does two handed alley-hoop with 0 as dunk rating... Is it just me, and you all know that players with 0 can do things like that?

thats weird. u should try giving him an alley oop again in game. or go to practice and pass it off the backboard and dunk it in. c if he can do that. i would think its something that ea didnt care enough about or didnt notice and slipped on it...

i bet all pgs can dunk... lol try wit earl boykins in practice mode. actually im gonna go do that now... lol. im gonna put earl and 0 jump 0 dunk and see wat happens

(in real life he actually can dunk tho)

No 0 dunkers cant alley hoop for sure

They cant do this dunk in practice (self-alley hoop), but they can alley-lay-in or whatever. I have no idea why computer calculated that Williams can dunk on that time though.

After long time of Live 2005 playing this was the first time I saw 0 dunker dunk and I have no idea why this happened. I was like

You know:

Almost like that:

Then took about a minute or two to gather myself for a screenshot and then post here.

Williams can jump quite well but his dunk is on 0. Dunk is the thing that calculates his dunk-or-not thing, as well as how big is the chance that the dunk will go in. Dunk package may have something to do with it (who knows, maybe andrews roster has williams on a dunk pack where he can dunk or something, though his dunk is on 0).

Whatever the reasons, it was fun lol :P

Check out Reggie Evans - low dunk, low jump, but throws down the spectacular oops - the reveses and such
I was wondering if it was more to do with his high rebounding skills :S

No, the type of dunks player does depend on their dunk package.

But dunk 0 should not dunk :P

Lol, I thought the only thing they could do in mid-air were layups!

I believe that it's a glitch in the code... Something that has slipped the through the cracks... There's always something.

It's a bug which happens on some weird occations... I haven't seen similar, but again it's only a game... Still only a game.

There are probably very few guys in the NBA that can't dunk... It's a whole different ball game dunking in a game situation, let alone do an alley-oop dunk...

This should be caused by the dunkpack value. I created a player with a 20 dunk rating but with the same dunk pack as Vince Kobe and Tmac(12 or 15 I think.) Anyways, the created player has never attemped a dunk but for everytime there is a Alley oop or put back situation he goes for high light dunks like Vince and Kobe.
So I guess the dunk rating only effects the possible attemps of regualr dunks, while alley oops and put back slams are effected by the dunk pack.

every player in the nba can dunk. even the professor from and1 streetball mix tape can dunk. i saw him do an alley oop to himself in practice. and hes a 5'6 white guy. if he can dunk, any1 can :D

It is a fact that Early Boykins cannot dunk in a NBA regulation rim.
And I'm sure that some other players cannot do it as well.

Oh, and I have seen T.J. Ford dunk on a regulation rim!

i too saw john stockton once did a one hand dunk. or am i just imagining things anyways earl will never dunk during an nba game. i think its a glitch in the code that made a player with 0 dunk to slam the ball. happen to me sometimes with d.wesley. he slam an in your face into maurice taylor.

TJ Ford is indeed a really more than decent dunker
