Players just stop during a Fastbreak action...?

I've just tried NBA live 2005 (pc) for the fisrt time.
It's a pretty good game, especially with the all star week end and the new animations !
But one big thing bothers me... THE FASTBREAKS !!!!!
In NBA, you see some fastbreak points, not all the times, but sometimes !!!
Here, in a HUMAN Vs HUMAN game, the defensive player always catch up the offensive player, or the offensive player just stops to catch the ball...Strange...
And there's no possibility or so few, to do (like in the 2004), some "steal-assist-dunk" actions... (fastbreak)
Is there any possibilities to do some ?
Like tweaking the sliders ?
(By the way, what is on ball defense assist, and phisicall defense ?)
Or the off ball control ?
Please Help !

The player stopping to catch and fastbreak catchup bugs are pretty much unsolvable. On-ball defense assist means how much your cpu teammates help you once you're beat (I believe), and on-ball physical defense is how much the cpu pushes you when you have the ball, making it harder for you to drive/backdown.
