I´ve read over some topics, that you can actually edit a file with a program called dbfcomander (or whatever), so you can create future draft classes on PC. Is that true??
If that were so, could it be sent and imported from others PC´s in order to not edit every player, one by one (assuming that someone has it and shares it

)
Thanx

WELL, FINALLY I KNOW HOW TO TRICK DE ROOKIE CLASS. THE THING IS THAT YOU SHOULD DOWNLOAD THIS PROGRAM (DBCOMMANDER). THEN, AFTER INSTALLING IT, YOU OPEN THE FILE YOU SAVED IN THE GAME (FOR INSTANCE, I HAVE A CAVS DINASTY NAMED "LEBRONIA"). THEN I GO IN THE PROGRAM TO MYDOCUMENTS/NBA LIVE/SAVES/LEBRONIA/PLAYERS.DBF AND FIND THE PLAYERS IN THE GAME " INCLUDING THE 05/06 ROOKIE CLASS". NOW WE HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM. THE DATABASE IS HUGE, SO I DON`T SEE MYSELF EDITING ROOKIE PLAYER BY PLAYER IN ORDER TO GET THEM TRICKED IN THE GAME

well, me being from amsterdam where I don't get to see a single minute of college basketball ( not to mention high school games ), isn't gonna help you that much. There are a couple of sites with player bio's, stats and scouting reports, but it's hard to calculate rating based on that alone.
maybe someone who's really familiar with the ncaa at the moment can help. I know there are some guys working on a ncaa project, but I dunno if they have the time to help out with this as well.

well lets me start a few note.
you need DBF editor, if you dont have one download one....
after you start a new dynasty or even an existing dynasty.. open the save file folder and look for player.dbf.
Open it, if you scroll down, there are entry with no FALSE in 1st Field, those are the generated rookies you can edit.
now pick 1 player, you can change the name with any name, lets say change it to Chris Paul, you can also change number, and position..
you can use this for edting the player.

now stuff like height, weight, color can be edit in appearance.dbf.

you dont need to edit the rating of generated rookes, once you draft them then that thats the time they will have ratings...
when you start the next season then thats the time you should edit that...

If u open the names.dbf file in your dynasty folder, u can change the names given to rookies. So u won't end up with weird or repeated names. You can also add more.
Sun Feb 20, 2005 5:51 pm
in players.dbf, how do u know which ones are rookies comin' in next draft class. And has anybody made 2005/2006 draft class and can get me there dbf that'll be really helpful
Sun Feb 20, 2005 6:30 pm
once you start a dynasty, all generated player will be in the next NBa draft.
i got one with real rookie porspects and NLSC ballers but it was in my dynasty...also im not done with dbf editing

In the appearence file, i haven`t been able to edit my custom rookies appearence. I guess it has to be with the ID column, but i don`t know how to match this registers with the ones i edit on the players.dbf file. The regular players (for instance AI has an ID ALIverson or something like that), but the generated players had an ID like plyr030. How do i know wich players are them?
Help Please

in player.dbf, try to remember what the player's PLAYERID.
then in apperance.dbf, look for the same APPEARID. change that player to the one you like. for me its RUSANTO.

i was wonderin' i made a guy that i want to put in a custom draft, now can i change his ratings also because the computer has no rating for their generated rookies. And also for the appearance, I can only size and height right now till the draft right.
