Optimizing game performance

Fri Jan 21, 2005 3:34 pm

My specs:
Mobile AMD Athlon 2800+ about 2.1 Ghz processor
512 MB RAM
64 MB RADEON IGP 320 graphics card (it came with the comp)

I usually play under Medium detail settings, and it lags a little bit... I play online and just get shitted on and it pisses me off. I turned all the settings to the minimum for online play and it still lags.

How can I get my game to run smoother without upgrading my PC? (because it's kinda hard to upgrade on a laptop)

Optimizng generally refers to using your current system at it's best. You...you....stupid-hole.

Wait for a resident techie to tell you what to do. I just wait until my computer doesn't run new games then get a top-of-the line one. I'm no use.

it could be your modem...

Yeah, it could be your Internet Connection. Broadband connection can definitely solve this problem. Aside from the detail settings and the background programs running while playing online, the internet connection is also important. Go for an ADSL to T3 connection if you can.

i agree with curious. lagging is prolly caused by your connection speeds. also, if you're playing the game, end all backgroundprocesses that you dont need while playing - a notebook has alot of them!!

Changing the video card may not be that easy. You still have to work to buy one, unless you just happen to be dirt-rich.

Most lap top won't even allow you to change your video card. I suggest buying a PC or a playstation, lap top are not the best for game playing.
