Gamepad + Keyboard Combined? (PLEASE HELP!)

Hello,
I don't know if this is a problem specific to me and my setup or if it is a more global problem. I just got a new computer and NBA Live 2005 after playing NBA Live 2000 for years (best sports game ever!)

Anyway, I cannot do like I used to do in that game and have Direct Pass be a keyboard command (ie "space" or "ctrl") and the rest of the controls take place on the gamepad. When I map Direct Pass (or any command) to the keyboard under my gamepad profile, it shows up on the screen but does not work in game. When I press space in game, nothing happens. I really would like to be able to use keyboard commands in conjunction with my gamepad. Help!


By the way, I have a Saitek Gaming Keyboard and a Logitech Wingman Rumblepad.

EDIT: Could someone just please tell me if the CAN use keboard commands in conjunction with their gamepad? I'd like to know I'm at least chasing after an attainable goal.

no you can't. it's either controller or keyboard, but not combined.
