I can't block shots

Postby Emanuel1234 on Thu Jan 13, 2005 6:10 pm

Can someone help me with shot blocking tips, I play with Dallas and against my brother(T-Wolves) I just cant block Garnet he gets an unholy amount of fouls I remember one game Garnett had like 60 something points worth of fouls, but I get blocked all the time by Garnett and Olowakandi. Can someone give me blocking tips, when should I press the block button how far away can I be, should I try to block from in front the sides, or the back, do I tap the block button or hold it down, also does holding down turbo affect anything(this is for the xbox version of the game by the way) thanks in advance.

Stay in front of him, and if you are using dirk your not gonna get good blocks. Maybe switch Dampier to the PF position so he guards garnett.

Thanks, I'll try that so do I have to hold down the block button or just tap it, also does it matter whether I hold down turbo or not?

If you hold it down or tap it, it's exactly the same thing.
The same applies with the turbo. (Y)

for blocking dunks and layups, i recommend that you stand a little bit out from the basket and when he comes in, just press trangle. don't move in his direction or anything bc that usually results in a foul.

Yea usually when I give the player some space I am more likely to block it instead get the foul
If you are real close then when you go up for the block you will more that likely bump into the offensive player and cause a foul (N)

If your in front of them (and you have fast reflexes) you can hold the charge button and you'll see your guy take the charge (as opposed to doing that walking backwards with his hands up animation). Just be sure not to be in the restricted area.

Alcoholic can you clarify that for me?? hold down the charge button when I'm guarding the player or the computers guarding the player, and do I do it while the guy is gonna dunk, or while he's driving to the basket? How far away do I need to be.
