thoughts on dwight howard

Thu Jan 06, 2005 3:17 pm

i am in the 2007-08 season and i got offered orlando after winning two titles with houston (traded yao for gasol and jimmy jackson and someone else for grant hill)

dwight howard - near impossible to hit a hook shot, gets about 3 boards a game, and about the same number of blocks

so is it just me or is dwight howard not all that great in live 2005?

want to get my hands on okafor but i just cant get him from the bobcats!!!

Dwight is an offensive beast. You shouldn't be shooting with him, just dunk dunk dunk with the odd layup thrown in for variety. I found it hard to hit under 75% with him, he's just too unstopable. He's a reasonable rebounder too, I can't see how you could only be getting 3 a game with him, he should be good for 10 a game.

an offensive machine should be able to hit hook shots from 5 feet though :x

Why? A dunk and a hook shot both count for the same amount of points, it's just one goes in more often. :)

'versatility'

Fair enough, I guess it depends on how you play. I fire it into the big guy, look for a high percentage scoring change (dunk or layup), and if that's not there, fire it out. I can see how it might be annoying if you're someone who likes to take shots with your PF and C.

It's just you mate.

I'm using Dwight in my 2005 season using Orlando.

In about 33 minutes, he's averaging 40.7ppg, 10.3rpg, 3.7apg, 1.3bpg, 1.2spg.

Just gotta know how to use him right!

dwight's a pretty good FG shooter too..
prolly 15 ft is his maximum range..but obviously the closer the better

I'm rolling on the hardest level (superstar? i'm bad when it comes to remembering names).

Get a lot of scores from running the stock 'post' play ... Stevie Franchise dumps the ball, and Dwight goes to town ... too easy.
