Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

just got live 05 on the pc the other day and have noticed that when shooting free throws (ps iam using the ps2 pad adapter) the line doesnt stop when right away, you sort of have to press it when its just on its way back from either side just to have a change of it stopping.
Second problem been that when i try to use the instant replay the red box just flys around the court without you been able to stop it, iam not even pressing anything it just runs wild on its own.
If anyone knows whats causing these problems then any help would be great.

Based on what you have described on you second problem, I suspect it's your graphics card or your graphics card driver that's giving you trouble. What's your PC specs, by the way? What gfx card driver are you using? Of course, high-end graphics cards produce the best results. A decent mid-end graphics card could solve that red box problem.
I've experienced a similar problem (free throw control delay) in NBA Live 2004 both in the PS2 and PC versions. In my PC here, there is no delay. In my friends' PC's and PS2's, some had delays. I had no choice but to adjust to the gameplay.

ok the spec is ....
AMD athlon 2000XP+
Radeon 9200 graphics card
256mb pc2100 ddr memory
Not sure on the gfx card drivers, it was already on the pc when i got it.
Thanks

It adds challenge if it stopped right when you psuhed it then it would be too easy. It has to delay a little to add the challenge.
And for the red box... i dunno.... MAybe because its on a player?

I understand that it has to delay but iam taking like a 2 second delay from when i hit the button and after playing live since 95 iam pretty sure that its a fault and not just part of the challenge. As for the red box thing its not on any player at all it just runs around the court corner to corner.
Its just fucked up !

Oh, I see. We almost have the same specs, except that I only have a 1500+ Palo and an Inno3D GF FX5200 128mb 128bit. Unfortunately, you don't have a good graphics card. But that doesn't mean that you cannot play the game. The R9200's ought to be error prone cards. They're even labeled as "slow editions" because of that, and they're not DX9 cards.
Anyway, updating to the latest ATI driver could solve that graphics issue. You could also try
these tweaked/optimized drivers that I posted. ATI and nVidia have different drivers. Choose which one is yours.
Another solution to that graphics problem of yours is by
lowering your detail settings. You could try a 640x480x16 screen resolution at a preset of Low. Perhaps an 800x600x16 at Medium would do. Try disabling triple buffer and vsync. Try to experiment with the detail settings of the game. From the BIOS, try disabling AGP fastwrite...raising/lowering AGP aperture size, etc.

Maybe because of the adapter... maybe it is the reason for slow respone or your just lagging o.O

curious101, Ive got no problem with the graphics or game play everything there is fine it just the replays that the games fucked on.
Ive dloaded all the driver updates and even the ones off the link you have there but its made no differents.
But thanks for the info.
TheGuRu,
"maybe it is the reason for slow respone or your just lagging o.O"
Whats that surpose to mean??

I've heard so many users using a PS2 to USB adapter and they had no problems about that delay thing. If you have no problems playing the game overall, except for that freethrow and replay thing, then maybe it's not a gamepad/PS2 adapter issue. It's more of a graphics card/graphics card driver/CPU/RAM/HD speed/AGP setting issue. But because we almost have the same specs. I suspect it's your graphics card driver that's giving you trouble.
You may want to set that automatic replays to 0 so that red box won't bother you anymore.
I had problems with freethrows too when I'm on a 1024x768x32 screen resolution. The white box in the middle just breaks and I can't see where I should set the "crosshair." The crosshair isn't smooth too. I have to wait a few seconds so that the graphics loads to memory before I execute the freethow. I resolved it by lowering my screen resolution settings to 800x600x32. So you see, those delays might not be the fault of your adapter after all.

Ive just had to lower the free throws to 40 so that i have half a chance to get it in, the reply problem only happens when you go into "instant replay" yourself not on in game replays, there fine. The game plays and looks fine i just cant take screenshots with not having the instant replays.

I have the same problem with lagging red square in replays but since i never use replay it doesn't bother me

Ive figured out that its the game pad thats causing the replay problems, id tried before without the gamepad in but it was still the same.
I dloaded some other drivers and the replays will now work but only without the gamepad in, other than buying a new gamepad is there anything i can do to fix this problem ie dload drivers for the gamepad?

i splashed out today for a new pc gamepad and all the problems stated above have now been resolved, iam abit pissed about it coz it wasnt that long ago that i had to buy the ps2-pc pad after using that logitech dual hunk of shit.
Wonder what pad il haver to buy for live 06
