pc to pc network gaming??!! any help?

i have 2 computers at home, i want to play nba live on a one on one basis. my problem is that any of the pc's cannot connect to each other. what would be the solution on this??? any idea??? this is my problem since live 2004. would i change any settings on my IP address???

You have to connect through a router. Or Through seperate ISPS or dif Modems!

Just establish any kind of LAN. Preferably a Wireless Network using a router. Or if both of them are close to each other, connect them with a LAN cable. This is just what I think. It's usually my older brother who does these things to play UT2004.
