CPU hitting shots with defenders all over them

Wed Dec 29, 2004 12:32 pm

Is there any way to tweak the sliders so that it'll make it harder for the CPU to hit shots with a man covering them (hand in their face)? Right now I'm growing more frustrated because the CPU manages to hit so many shots even when there is a defender all over them (the announcer even states that a guy is all over him). I don't want to hurt the CPU's ability to hit open shots, I just want to adjust the CPUs ability to hit shots while being covered.

Adjusted Shot Percentage - does this slider tweak the ability to hit the "double tap adjusted shot layup" only? Or does this effect a regular shot when covered? In other words, is this what I'm looking for?

Also, any way to adjust the game so that I'll have more open mid range jumpers instead of always resorting to posting up or driving the lane for a dunk/layup? I know if I make the CPUs defense weaker, it may not only leave my guys open for more jump shots, but also more easier to work inside for a dunk.

Sadly, no - unless the Freestyle Effectiveness slider also covers defense this year. However, increasing that slider would likely might it too easy to blow by opponents. I don't think there's much we can do about that.

I'm pretty sure it only affects the double tap Freestyle Air moves.

Not really, it's up to your offense. If you penetrate with your point guard or post up with your big men, chances are the defense will collapse on the player with the ball freeing up a player for an open midrange jumper. That generally works for me.
