I have one question, here it goes:"AUDIONICK:Nickname used by the announcers - attribute for created players" <----one of the files in player.dbf.What should I write there(I guess a NUMBER..)to make the announcers pronounce the nickname?Just to choose a nick from nickname.dbf and write its ID in the AUDIONICK,or how should I do it??

I don't think the AUDIONICK field is used for created players in NBA Live 2005.

I don't see why it would be when all they say is the number for the created players...

well,I created a player, but I made chages to the players.dbf, cyberface and so on.....so actually he is normal player, not like just created.
So you wanna say that you can't do anything to make the announcers to say the nickname?at least of any normal player in NBA 2005?Like KG(K.Garnet),mighty mouse (D.Staudomire), <----caouse all the nicknames are in the list in nicknames.dbf.So, I guess the AUDIONICK section was't made just like that, without any purpose...??

Hmmm...if you make a player like that. I don't see why it wouldn't work, but maybe something else needs to be changed along with the audionick???

I'm pretty sure that the AUDIONICK field doesn't correspond to nicknames.dbf - I'm almost certain that those values only correspond to the NICKNAMEID field and the nickname that is displayed as text in View Player.

If you look at the audionick field (previously used for all audio nicknames in NBA Live) it's 0 for everybody. So obviously it's not used (The announcers still call Kevin Garnett "KG") but does anybody know another way you could use a DBF editor to at least let created players "imported" into dynasty mode be called by their last names, so long as the last name already exists in the games audio files?

Ah ha! Okay - so I tried simply changing the Nickname ID of one of the created players I made to see if it had any impact on the audio in the game and it sure did. I changed one of my imported nicknames to NICKNAMEID 9518 ("The Hurt") and he is announced as such by the announcer, commentators, etc. as in previous NBA Live editions. Not sure if that is exclusive to Nicknames with a TRUE in the ISCREATED field or not, but that's what I've got so far...

Yup :D

Just still need to figure out how to make it so the announcers will call a player with the last name thats in the game (i.e "Wallace") by their last name instead of their #....

Okay - after a little more tinkering this is what I have found:
The NICKNAMEID field is certainly a text field. Try any of the ID numbers in the nicknames.dbf file, and go and view the player in the roster screen, and you'll see the nickname. It also impacts the audio in some cases; it seems that if you use any of the audionicks previously attributable to the created players in past versions of LIVE (all of the four digit ID's in the nicknames.dbf file) that it will use the nick for your player (announcers, etc.) just like in previous live. However, I tried giving one player the Walter McCarty's nickname "Big Nasty" or ID #18. I couldn't get my player to be called by that in the limited amount of time I played, he was just referred to by number. Changing the ID #18 ISCREATED field from False to True seemed to have no effect.

So what I am thinking is, is that for some nicknames the nickname id's are just for the text in the game (have you ever heard an annoucner call McCarty Big Nasty?) and other's (maybe just the created ones) are both for text and audio. Perhaps however if you were to use an ID like "Zo" you would hear it, since there is likely an audio file associated with it, unlike "Big Nasty" Hmm...
