Low rating rookies?

Postby ilya on Mon Nov 22, 2004 8:13 pm

Is it just me or are pretty much all rookies rated VERY low. it seems like in my dynasty (now 2008-2009) every rookie that ever comes in the league starts off with a rating well below 70. usually around 65 or so.
i realize there is training and such. but where are lebron-like rookies? shouldn't we have some? pretty much every year in the real nba draft there is someone who is an instant impact. is the game not portraying that?

Players like BronBron... No players like Bron ain't nowhere to be seen... The guy is still 19 right? So young... No one has played like he does at his age. He's one of a kind, he's a physical phenom and a masterful talent that has crashed into the NBA last season. He's the first!

Players you could compare to him are Kobe, TMac, Kevin Garnett, Tyson Chandler, Eddy Curry, Kwame Brown etc. The guys who have come straight from high school... Which of these guys played a 20-6-6 rookie season! Absolutely no one was even close... LeBron played a rookie season that has only been matched by Larry Bird and Michael Jordan! That's some high company, and Bird and MJ had some college years to boost them up from their high school form.

Believe me... There's no one like LeBron ever before... And it's going to take a while before we see one again... Maybe never. He is just that good... He's 19 now and leading the league in scoring, in his sophmore year!

Everyone else coming from high school have taken their time to build up to their potential... And they didn't have close to the hype and pressure LeBron faced... LeBron had huge expectations on him and he even surpassed the craziest fantasies about how good this kid could really be.

Dwight Howard ain't close to the impact player LeBron was last year and he was drafted with the 1st overall pick this summer... LeBron is one of a kind... I wouldn't want to see guys like him coming of the draft every year cause he's just that damn good.

actually Bron had a similar stats wise season to Magic, course Magic won the finals....

but yeah if u have high rated rookies like Bron then it'll be boring, u know u can develp your rookies....I mean just cause theire 65 doesnt mean they'llbe stuck 65.....u can go to like 85 if u really work on them.

but everyone watch out for Aurie Allen, he was on Ripley's a year or 2 back.......6"8, 280 lbs n just 14 ...back then......who knows he must be like 6"10 now.... I think he might be the MOST DOMINANT when he steps into the league n im sure he will......watch out for him.

What you can do is edit the new rookie in players.dbf to make him a future superstar. I've simmed up until 2015 and there has only been one "Strong" draft and that was the first one. Most of them are "Weak", and a few "Above Average". This has really led to a watered down league with the premiere superstars at an 81-85 rating. I've been "creating" superstars via editing database files ever since NBA Live 2001.
