Bobcats wont accept Kareem Rush!!!

Postby brad feet on Mon Dec 13, 2004 6:11 pm

I'm about to trade Rush to the Bobcats for a 2nd round pick in my Dynasty before my first game but the Bobcats wont accept it. They're saying that they are not yet willing to trade draft picks yet.....

Is it because they already have two sg's in S.Smith(sg/sf) and K.Bogans(sg/sf)? Do you think if i change their positions to sf/sf in dbf editor, they would accept my offer in Rush?

No, it is because the computer never trades draft picks early in the season.

then when would i do the trade? i'm worried the bobcats would sign someone then, there will be no more roster spot for rush.

Just edit the DBF file and place Rush at the Bobcats.

yeah me neither. i even tried trading a really high rated player with a small contract for a crappy player with the same contract AND a draft pick, they said no.

just use the dbf editing guides, and put rush to the bobcats. your 2nd rounder won't do you too much anyway, unless you're lucky

Just trade Rush for House (he's probably still on the Bobcats roster in the game, but he was released in the NBA)

Unbelievable!
I could mange a trade involving a draft pick yet.
In 2004 the interest of the cpu teams on your draft picks was a good sign that they are interested in trading draft picks but in 2005 I found no way.

I have no problem trading any of my players for a draft pick. once I got 3 first round draft pick.

try trading a pick to a team that has the same record like yours. You don't expect New Orleans (1-18) to give up their first round pick (or even 2nd-round) to Phoenix (18-3). :D

hm...i think you are alone in your ability to trade draft picks so easily. i can't get anyone to accept. even if i am the bobcats with a record of about 10-20 or something, I couldn't get anyone to take my 1st round pick

I don't understand what you mean.
When I try to trade a player for a draftpick I think it is not important what record the involved teams have. Sure you must offer a better player when you want to get the first round pick of a team with a 1-18 record.

The problem is that the teams not reply that my offer is to bad, they reply that they don't want to trade draftpicks (whatever I want to get a draftpick or I offer a draftpick).

just remember in trading you also need to consider salary. you can trade a player on a team over the cap.

and yes mostly they dont accept your trade coz they always said they not interested in trading drat pick.

Sure its important, but I didn't mean its the only "condition" a trade would work. Also consider the player you are trading (if they are interested to that player), salary of the players and the date when you propose the trade (if its in mid-season, or a day before the trading deadline). And also when I propose a trade I would sometimes include my 2nd pick to the trade.

I try to experiment with trading a draft pick. once I tried to trade my players for every team for their 1st round. That's how I got three 1st round pick.

In Live 2004 I did it in the same way as you discribe and it works.
In Live 2005 I try the same and nothing works. I tried many different teams and many dates but everytime I offer one of my draft picks the other team declines the deal. No chance to progress so far.
