Can't post up

Anyone else notice that sometimes when you try to post up, the defender will not get into the defensive stance position? You're just slipping and sliding past him, making the post up button useless. In the real NBA, the defender puts a forearm in the offensive player's back and it becomes a strength struggle.
Live 2004 had it right except that no matter how big you are, (or small the defender is) you could only back him in two steps and that was it.

huh? how come... my defender does his job well.... move right analog stick down and ur defender will be in defensive stance
