Connection errorS!!!!

Lately when trying to play live 05 online.... I get a connection error everytime within the first 3 minutes if the first quarter. It says my opponent disconnected... yet i get no credit for the win. Nor does it count against me..It just started doing this today. Ive played many successful games with out disc. errors on this system and connection. Someone help please... this is really frustrating.

Im running 2.6 ghz pent. 4, 1028 ram, radeon x800 pro
win xp
radio shack PS(x) to usb convertor.
