PS2 GamePad And 1 Question : (need an answer)

Postby 33 on Wed Nov 03, 2004 12:58 am

I heard about a lot of gamepads to play NBA live ?

What do you think about the PS2 gamepad fo PC (with the adaptator) ?
Is it good ?
No problems for the configuration ?
No bugs ?

And my question is about the freestyle air : when you're going for a layup and you see that someone is about to block you, you can adjust to an "up and under" (for example) lay up to avoid the block (right ?). Which button you use to do this ? The "adust dunk/layup" button ? or the analogic stick ? or both ? or something else ?
Or is it automatic ?

Thanks for answering.

Hi !!

First i got the PS2 Joypad with adaptator and I think it's really the best pads ... not fully recon by a few old games but no problem with all recents games, and NBA 2k5 of course ... you just have to select the "Super PS Joy" in the controller configuration, just to retrieve the same buttons you see in the topic here for dunk contest.

The freestyle air you're talkin is when you're about to dunk (and not lay up) and adjust it for a lay up when someone is trying to block. Just tap again the dunk /layup button to do this !

But it's an interessant question here : with players who can't dunk, is it possible to adjust the layup with a second layup ? :D

Yes.

I heard that the ps2 controller adapter is fine, and I don't know of anyone that is experiencing problems.

Thanks guys, think I'm gonna buy it.

I think it's the best thing to do since I play with a simple sidewinder for 2 years...

I got two other questions in mind :

In the 2004 it was impossible to score from behind the half court.
Can you now in the 2005 ? or at least can you touch the rim from that distance ?
In 2004 it was air ball all the time !

And is it possible to pass the ball when you're going for a lay up or a dunk like in the 2001 for example ?
Like a beautiful pass while you're in the air and everybody jump thinking you're going to dunk.

bon je vais répondre en français alors :D (sorry guys, I will speak french just on this post !!!!)

You were right it wasn't that interesting but it's important to see some beautiful shots from downtown, besides it had more realism.
In my opinion... :D

I wanna live soon !!!

Can't wait ! By the way, do you agree with that ?

absolutely !!!! it was present last year but this year the moves are really amazing !!!
in the 2004, adjusting a dunk with a layup wasn't really gorgeous .

And I'm confirming u that you can't pass the ball during a layup/dunk :( (just tried)

much more realistic like that in my view, have you ever seen a guy passing the ball as he tried to dunk ?? it's quite the same for the lay-up...
Even a pass during a jumpshot is rare in a game and it often occur in a loose ball...
