Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

Is it just me or is everybody notice that the Starter are much more realistic option to play with than the All-Star ?
I'm having trouble calling plays, unlike NBA Live 2004, and in All-Star level I'm always losing because of this, and it's annoying.
It's not too much realistic, as I can't seem to get open with anybody on the court for an open jumpshot. Even on pick-n-roll, the Defense will stick to you like glue.
And what's the story will all the blocks on easy lay-ups ?
I played with Brand and try to lay-up the ball on a non-contested shot, and suddenly Elden Campbell blocks my shot Prince-style block.
It happends atleast 3-4 times to me with any player, on any situation.
One last thing is fast-break.
I run with Meggette for a dunk after I stole with him the ball and I was the only player at the opponent territory, but somehow everytime the defender will catch on me and block my way, and I would have to start all over again a 24-seconds play. It happens all the time, too, and even when much more slowly players than me are guarding me.
Anyone else knows this problems ?
Any solution, guys ?
Other than that, I like the game.
Live 2004 was better than in some areas, but All-Star weekend sure does the job in this version. and the Dynasty with the new featurs is awesome.

Yeah, lots of the same problems (XBox here). See my derivsive comments in countless threads. I'm slowly (very slowly) tweaking the sliders, using the "Pared" sliders (see sliders thread) as a base. Those crazy blocks still happen, though, with CPU blocking down to zero, though not quite as frequently. I'm definitely warming to the game as I mess with sliders, but I don't really have the time to both get it right and play some games. I hope to get the sliders perfect and then finally do a season or Dynasty.
So, be patient, vent here, play with sliders and accept that we have to deal with all the silly little things that it seems shouldn't be wrong but are.

so far, i dont seem to have the problems you guys are having. I play on All-Star too and i use Pared's sliders.
If you use teams with a good low post threat, play a Phil Jackson type of offense and i assure you your shooters will get wide open shots. If you use the lakers, freestyle wont work for Kobe, i use 2 to 3 screens to get kobe a wide open jumper or sometimes i post him up.
The blocks doesnt bother me because i find it realistic that you cant expect Chucky Atkins to shoot over Larry Hughes and you can expect Kobe to get an easy layup every time he attachs the hoop. The freestyle air feature has been added for a reason, use it to avoid blocks.
for the fastbreaks i havent been having the problems where the cpu catches up with you everytime(like in 04). maybe you forgot to press the turbo button?

Good idea. Next time when Kobe is taking a 17 foot jumper and Iverson is about to block him, I'll try the freestyle air feature and see what of shot he'll take.

Exactly, and I was obviously talking about jumpers

My point is though, the issue with blocking is not with dunks and layups, it's with the jumpers.
EDIT: I thought AI2 was talking about jumper blocks, so ignore my posts. Sorry The_Game

OK, guys.
I guess I should try and adjust a little the sliders.
Last year was great on Superstar, so I didn't have to adjust anything really, just the game speed.
I will try the freestyle air, too.
I will just have to look how to do that ...

I have one question :
In the 2004 it was impossible to score from behind the half court.
Can you now in the 2005 ? or at least can you touch the rim from that distance ?
In 2004 it was air ball all the time !

i find playing all star with sever slider adjustments produces a better game than superstar does, but thats just my take on it.
