Can't play with adjusted rosters online?

I was combing through the rosters and noticed some missing players. So I
went to free agents list and found some of them, and put them on their respective teams. I saved it, then loaded them. Went online to play, and the default roster shows up, without the changes I just made. Last years version you could play with custom rosters online. Did they take this out for 05 too? Please reply.
