i know of being able to get previous versions of live 2 months before actual release dates but 2yrs i find a little too hard to believe

I think he ment that for the last two years he got the game before it was released in the US. So Live 2003 and 2004 were released in Hongkong before they were released in the US.
And apparently 2005 as well.

I apologize for the misunderstanding.
What I meant to say was: Last year (which was 2003), NBA Live 2004 was released in Hong Kong a day before the US, according to a post that I saw here on the forum.
