making cap space

im at like negative cap room and free agents dont want to sign with my team. how do i increase cap room? i've already tried releasing players on my team i dont need.

Released players still count against your cap until their contract runs out (there is more to it in real-life of course, see the full rules here if you are interested). You need to let the player's contract run out or trade players with long contracts for players with expiring contracts to get the salary off your books and get cap room.
