And the graphics are as bad as they are because THE CONSOLES suck at this department... We could get a so much more beautiful game if it was only coming out for the PC.
Don't blame consoles because ESPN has done a great job at providing top notch graphics.(Even though consoles can't keep up with the graphically demands of a PC, still console graphics for Live could be much improved especially on XBOX) EA has lagged behind on all their sports titles graphically. EA takes steps backwards in certain areas from year to year. Remember how Madden use to have all player models the same, then all of a sudden Madden differentiated the different positions, now look at the models. All the characters have pretty much the same build and muscle tone. Also, this years Freestyle Air is just a rehash of 2003's Freestyle when you could change a shot with freestyle while in the act of a lay-up , which I found to be odd missing in 2004 and we settle for that tap the button twice crap when 2003's was much better.Live could have better graphics, better gameplay, better whatever but EA has slacked in the past becasue they had no competiton in the B-Ball genre. Well, now they have a legitamate competitor, that's one of the reason Live is coming so soon, price dropped $10.00 and the buy 2 get 1 free deal. EA has made a small effort to take out the ESPN NBA 2kseries. With the potential crossover appeal of the All-Star Weekend mode in Live it could possibly devestate ESPN. Remember we are talking commercial success and not hard core sim lovers. This is a money making business so that takes priority over sim fans first. The consumer has control so if you buy it they usually stick with what works. This forum is a great place for Live fans to band together to request feature and things wanted in the game. We can all get together and not support(purchase) a product we feel to be inferior to the standards that I feel EASPORTS sets( in marketing) If players from all the different platforms cut out buying LIve or any game by 50 to 60% of their sales it would grab the attention of the entire industry. I credit EA for making an attempt this year to appease the fans but what about next year and especially on the next-gen consoles and PC titles. $19.99 is what helps keep ESPN going this year and their die hard supporters. The price help compete with the commercial appeal that EA has and the ASW.
