Questions about patching and editing for the PC

Fri Sep 24, 2004 6:46 am

Hey guys,

I am a console user (Xbox) and have never played a PC version of Live.

I am wondering if you could tell me some of the differences between console play and computer play. Are the graphics a ton better? How do the components of your PC affect the game play? Is there a lag in play?

Also, I hear a lot of talk about people making patches, updates, players...etc, how do you do it? Does EA have a program on Live that allows you to do it or do you need a seperate program to do it?

How much editing can you do with PC versions? Is it more than just player patches and creating players?

I have heard people can change some of the programming for the game, is that true?

Any information will help. Thanks.

theres a heap of things you can do with patches...i myself am not a patcher, but i do enjoy the fine work of a lot of the people that post their patches here.
i recommend that you get yourself a copy of the game for pc (do you have a pc...does it have good specs?) and enjoy the work that people here have put in to make the game that extra bit better.

plus if you wanted to start making patches yourself, there are tutorials available to help you on your way.

trust me once you play pc version with patches you wont be able look at the console version in the same light. :)

yes, I do have a PC.

I am not that technically sound, so I am not really sure what the specs are, but from what I understand my comp is pretty well set.

The motherboard is only 2 years old or so, so it is a fairly new system.
