Who do you think will be higher rated in live 05. Last year, web 86 and peja 73. But then c webb started to break down, and peja lit up big time. I would expect both to be rated in the 80s, but pejas higher.
Sun Sep 19, 2004 8:43 am
i think it will be close ... but C Webb will get the edge because he can play some D ... whereas, Peja simply can't

Webber = 82
Stojakovic(sp?)=80

I say Webber will be an 80 and Peja would be a 77.
Sun Sep 19, 2004 11:47 am
i'd say peja got the higher rating now... since webber has lost his explosiveness.. and peja is just starting to get into his prime..

Webber will kill Peja, why?
Webber = better rebounder, passer, shot blocker, defender [though he isn't that good himself], better low post scorer, still more athletic, and a good scorer too.
Peja = better shooter, and yea
Webber - 83
Peja - 76-78, but it will be hard for him to reach 78 because his rebounding is okay, he's not a good defender, not anything special in passing, can't block, not athletic, isn't a low post guy, I mean he just doesn't have those little things that boost your rating.

So everybody admits that the gap is closing. I think Webber will be the more likely hall of fame guy in the end still.

I agree with everything you said except that webber is a better scorer, peja is a much better scorer, he just doesnt have defense and hes not athletic, but uhh, considering webber was injured last year and it hurt some of his skills,Peja will be rated higher, also, if u guys didnt notice in the IGN: play of the day videos, Peja had the star around his name so he has a higher rating. :\

I didn't say Webber is a better scorer, I said he's a good scorer too as in they're both good scorers.
Anyways, Peja could've had the star because Webber wasn't on the floor, or the decreased Webber way too much which likely means an update on him

What was peja, 2nd in points last year? Maybe his ratings is way up in high 80s. Web probably only lost a couple points. I bet Mike bibby is up over 75 now. And Brad Miller up a couple. Jackson and Christie maybe down one or two. Ostertag up a little.
Oh well, that's the best team. I won't be using them, I'll be using Bobcats.
Ostertag is no vlade.

Bad Miller should be like a 79, Bibby in the 70's too.

I'd go..
Miller: 80
Webber: 82
Stojakovic: 83
Bibby: 79
Or at least that's what I'll edit the ratings to

that would be close to an all-star team
Sun Sep 19, 2004 1:18 pm
Er... how about no. They rate all of the best players in the 90's, I doubt very much an All-Star team would be full of guys in the low 80's and late 70's genius.
Also, Sacramento finished 4th in the West so something tells me they should have a pretty decent rated team
Just to add to that...
Stojakovic: 26ppg/6rpg
Webber: 19ppg/9rpg
Bibby: 18ppg/5apg
Miller: 14ppg/10rpg

I think Chris will still be rated higher than Predrag, how much is the question. Clearly Peja established himself as being on the cusp of an elite level but of course, Webber is a big man after all..... Tough question....
Sun Sep 19, 2004 2:11 pm
True, I think with the ratings the way they are it'd be easier for them to make Peja a good shooter without his rating getting too inflated. While with someone like Webber they'd need to do rebounding, strength etc etc.
Btw, congratulations on your moderator-ship

i honestly think alot of you are to stuck on overall rateings. just cause someone is better overall does not make them a better play. this may sound dumb to alot of you but in 2004 i had anthony at a 63 and he would always out perform my top rookie of the same position who was a 71.

In one of the IGN video's I though that Stojakovic had the star for starplayer
Sun Sep 19, 2004 8:08 pm
The star goes to the highest rated player for each team on that floor at that time. As for the original Q. I'm picking Webber to hold the edge over Stojakovic. Peja certainly showed his stuff last season with C-Webb injured but all-round Chris is the better player.

probably webber, since he is the more all-round player..
but if they had a wussy rating webber would be the top rated player in the game

If Peja isn't atleast an 80 it's a crime. When will EA realize how good this guy is? I think 79 is a little high for Bibby, but I agree that he should be raised. I think it'd be nice if Webber and Peja had the same overall rating

.
Mon Sep 20, 2004 9:31 am
Even though Peja had a breakout season and Webber had a breakdown season he will still be higher. The reason being is that they rate the players on how they perform without injuries. So Webber is more of a well-rounded player while Peja is limited to offense only. Plus Webber is the leader of the team so if they do have a rating for leadership then Webber would be even higher.
