No, it's not in the 2005 version of Live but I bet next year we can expect to see it. Regardless, I don't think the mid level will make or break this game but would be great to have. They've already overhauled the entire system I'd say that counts for a whole lot in terms of keeping us busy.

Mid level can be exploited. You sign guy for midlevel and trade him with some scrubs to get a better guy. Then you have another midlevel to use. It is a real exploit in 2k3. The only way it wouldn't be an exploit in the next LIVE game is if the CPU doesnt take dumb trades, and if the midlevel is used as an OVERPAYING move to get slightly better than minimum guys, making the guy untradable.

If you trade the player you don't get your mid-level exception back

I'm with Dre, I believe this is going to be one of the "next step" features in the NBA Live series. With the overhaul to Dynasty Mode, EA seem to have covered a lot of the basics. With a better foundation in place, EA is in a better position to add more features and details in future versions of Live.

haveing a mid level to play with would probably totoally prevent the top players from always signing for the min at 1 year.

I agree with Andrew, Look at the way they have enhanced and developed the freestyle controls since they were first introduced in 2003. I'm sure with the overhaul of the Dynasty mode system in 2005 we will see things like mid-level exception (and more) make there way into later versions of NBA Live.
