Before I had a controller with analog (2 years ago) I had been using the d-pad for 5 years and loved it. Then I got the new one and couldn't get it to use the d-pad for movement in 2003. So I just tried to get used to it. 10 or 15 losses in a row later I finally got the hang of it, but still didn't like it. I finally figured out how to use the d-pad (I had to change the 'mode' on my gamepad) and everythign was so much easier.
Edit: and of course I use the analog for freestyle.

i was slow to come around with the analog. i absolutly hated it when live forced me to start useing it but now i have come around and i like it. i still dont use it for every game, infact i only use it on live but i no longer hate it.

To walk you push the stick 'slightly'.. the farther you push it the faster he goes.

I'd like to mention that I did buy a Logitech Dual Analog gamepad, as well as one for my friend's birthday. Both his, and mine were great at first, but after a while, the players would move by themselves without touching the analog stick. I went out and bought a Thrustmaster (also recommended by others on this forum). As an alternative to the Thrustmaster, I'd suggest the Saitek as well.

How is the Thrustmaster "3" different from the "2"? I have had the "2" for a couple of years.
BTW, I love the analog. D-pad... <shudder>

Hey guys,
I have a pad called a Nostromo. Its got the dual analog sticks, and the directional, and the standard 6 or so buttons plus 2 on each top end (like playstation ones).
It was dirt cheap and goes ok, except sometimes an analog gets stuck and my dude will like just run out of bounds until i unplug it from the usb, then plug it back in
hehe, funny but very frustrating when in a critical moment of a game!!!

Hey, I've just bought Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Analog 3 because it
seemed like everyone was recommending Thrustmaster's product. I bought Analog 3 instead of Power 3 because it costs about $15 less. Is these two product same except for Power 3 having force feedback? And are both products work good in many games and of course especially in Nba live and other sports game. I just want somebody to confirm me that I bought the right product
