That's exactly what I mean! That move by Peja is a sweet one, but the good thing is, you're not going to see it often which is a very good thing. I like awesome plays that you don't see often because if it happens all the time, the novelty will wear off fast. Although, Pau Gasol did the same move in the game. After watching the SA vs. HOU game then this one, I have a few more gripes:

- The passing is unrealistic. If you see Pau Gasol make a normal pass, you'll notice that it is a bullet pass and by the time the ball makes it to the other player, Pau is still in the "motion" stage of passing. In other words, the hand, arm, and wrist motion is not consistent with the speed of the ball that is being thrown. Also, the lob pass to the post is unrealistic too because the ball "floats."

- The dunk by Stromile Swift while being challenged by Brad Miller. Stromile Swift is going in, taking his time, and making a nice soft dunk, acting like Brad Miller wasn't even there. This is a dunk that I would see on a breakaway, not in traffic. If he were to dunk it real life, he would go hard with authority, with the awareness that Brad Miller is going to challenge him.

- Awkward as hell in the paint animations. Some of these player animations are imitating ballerinas, not athletes! I've seen a couple animations where they would awkwardly throw it up in a dainty fashion and lift one leg behind him. Sure, I'd understand if he was doing that if he was being challenged, but there was this one putback by Pau Gasol that was terrible. In fact I'll get right into that...

- Putback animations are all the same. They are all identical, and I really hate the fact that Pau Gasol can easily tip it in through the hoop rather than volley it into a high arch where it's almost as high as the top of the backboard before coming down.

BUT, a lot of these issues could probably be addressed if they are played in a different camera angle. It looks very good in that Peja three pointer replay. All in all, the game still looks very good and could be much better than Live 2004. Hopefully it's still a work in progress and EA could do a little more to the physics and animations for next year.

The way peja moves loooks pretty realistic, right after he makes the basket it looks like its really him for a second.

I agree.

I'd also like to add that too many of those freestyle air scoop shots are going in. I don't think they go in that frequently in real life at all. It's really a low percentage shot.

has anyone on the nba live staff ever seen doug christie? He may be black in real life, but he's as white as I am and they have him very dark, maybe it's just me, but it's way too dark of a skin for him, am i wrong?

Couldn't agree more (though, for some reason I thought you were african-american, go figure). EA Canada needs to step their game up in that regard. For instance, the last 4 years now Lamar Odom has been as dark as Wesley Snipes so I end up creating my own Odom and reducing the original Odom's ratings to 0 and placing him in the free agent pool,,,,,,

anyone remember the old madden games where every single player was white? lol its funny but messed up if you think about it. more so in thier football game do you see them get a players skin color wrong(much more players in nfl). i can almost understand it in that game but in live and a player as well known as he is should not be wrong.

This video was pretty good, but there were flaws. I hope EA can fix some of this stuff before the game comes out so some of this stuff won't happen. Like I remember in the last video when Yao jumped up in the air to catch the ball on a outlet pass. It seems like whenever someone shoots a hook shot, they will make it 95% of the time. I think the gameplay needs a little more work. As far as the video goes, it had pretty good graphics and I'm glad my Grizz were in it :o

Wussup Mafia, let's bear in mind that we don't know several things before we rush to judgement:

- as far as making all the hooks shots we don't know what level he was playing on.

- we also don't know how he adjusted his sliders.

Whoo-hoo!

The only thing wrong IMO is the passing...the one-handers; otherwise it is shaping up to rival ESPN this year.

I love what I've seen of Live so far. Pretty much everything that f!cked up the gameplay last year seems to have been taken care of. The spacing looks much improved and like Tim said in the interview, the CPU does take mid-rage shots and use all the available freestlye moves.
I can't wait to get my filthy hands on my copy :D

Hands down this game kicks ass!!! Even with minor gripes it still looks like the best basketball game of all time.
