I can't tell a lie. ESPN looks very good. Better than live?? :? :? :?

Fri Sep 10, 2004 2:59 pm

The player's movement look more fluid than last years definately.

Fri Sep 10, 2004 4:02 pm

I actually already saw this a while ago, ESPN has some nice models, and the players look good, they have their slight flaws, but still good.

The ESPN Clips have been to short to get much from them, but later today their should be more gameplay clips.
The live Full game stuff from IGN shows 20 times more than this one does really, but it's a nice taste of what ESPN is also doing...

With such a small screen and a bad resolution you really can't say anything about the games.

Live used almost the worst possible camera angle that it could. But the movement looked a lot better than on ESPN. I don't see where graphics are that much different.

You can really tell the 10-man-mo-cap system on Live. That looks like a basket ball game. ESPN pretty much had no movement off the ball and it looked pretty dumb. Something I've used to seeing in Finnish fifth division, but that's about the only place where I see it.

But the screen was small, the graphics were next to unlookable... If we got to look at them on a monitor or television live, we would be able to say more.

I would say that ESPN fluidity isn't still up to par with Live yet. I really didn't like that jump shot look... That looks like something that Kobe or TMac pulls up from far away, but those are the only two guys that can manage a shot like that.

What do I care anyway... Live is still the only one coming out on PC.

ps. Shaq shooting threes... Priceless.

Shaq shot a three?

Check out the NEW 'FEAR the fro' within today & you'll find out the real basketball that we are waiting for...

Superb graphics, 3-D active crowd, Realistic Live broadcast, New dunk, shooting, dribbling animations, new isomotion2, reactive court sense, the next movement, surprise franchise mode (the association), refurbished 24/7 mode, ESPN sportscenter presentation ( Bill walton, scott stuart, michelle tafoya), of course for only $19.99. I CAN'T BELIEVE!!!

Although I'm getting a live copy also but no offense to LIVE DIEHARDS, the player models & graphics of live still look cartoonish whenever I see the graphics & player models & court spacing of 2K5...

After seeing this video, i am going to get ESPN for sure.

Superb graphic!!! Wonderful Camera angle!!!

I love the crowd espn has!!!!! They stand up and cheer and stuff, that adds so much realism.

I can't believe I'm saying this, I'm getting both. :D

Sure why not? I know I am, we'd be fools to not explore all our options as sports gamers and consumers (especially for a quality title that retails for $20.00!). But I think the problem lies in the fact that Big Ben and sho 89 seem hellbent on taking sides and trying to "make us see the light".

- just the implication in itself is annoying that we're "misguided gamers" who are hopelessly in love with an inferior title.

- equally annoying is this myth that graphically somehow ESPN is to Live as "Citizen Kane" is to "Dude, Where's My Car?"

All this talk about how we'll see who the "real" basketball game is, etc. etc. etc. is unbelievably irritating especially when I plan to get both of them. I prefer NBA Live, that's my prerogative.

Most importantly, what they fail to understand is the overall absurdity of consistently championing ESPN on an NBA Live board and actually being surprised we don't concur with their views.....

Sat Sep 11, 2004 7:14 am

I never expected ESPN to be that good. Hopefully they can show like a full game like Live did yesterday. If ESPN had an all-star weekend and NBA store like Live has then I think they would most definitely have the better game. I like the way the players move in ESPN. I wish EA and Sega could combine forces and just make this world alot easier to live in

On the NBA Live menu, I saw something that said Freestyle Challenge :? What is that?

Check out the new videos now at ESPNvideogames.com and taste the greatness of the greatest baskeball videogame this year...

REAL Basketball, Real Moves, No fluffs, No Gimmicks!!!

Sun Sep 12, 2004 12:19 am

that motto is gimmick itself.

but i am definately getting both. i agree with the idea of vc and ea somehow being able to combine the best of both games. espn's graphics and presentation with live's special features and gameplay? perfection.

Dude, are you hired by ESPN? Ben 2k5?
I'm seriously asking because you seem like it.

It just tells you how great of a board NLSC has when fans of other games come here to discuss stuff.

My thoughts exactly. No offense to non-Laker fans here, but it's just like all the hate my team gets. No one would put so much energy into detracting from you if they don't deem you worthy of recognition....

Go Away.

And on the other note, Stop riding ESPN. Dumbass.

Me too, I think the entire crowd is fully 3-D if I'm not mistaken.

On another note: Nobody has to sell (convert) me, I'm getting both Live PC and NBA2K5. I'm supporting both companies in hoping they can continue to release better products. One will probably get more play than the other one, just like this past year, it was Live 2004 PS2/PC. Who knows this year?

you are right dre. being hated is like haveing a badge of honor. you see people running around hateing the clips? or atlanta? no, cause they aint shit so why waste time hateing them.
