well you have to use some of the money earned from the ticket sales to pay off your debts like stadium management and players and coaches. After all that if you have more money left you can buy upgrades for your stadium like new seats, cup holders etc. or you can save it up until you have enough money to bid for relocation of your team. I am usually the rams so in 2-3 years i always relocate to boston or newyork or l.a just for fun because your first year after you relocate you make a lot of money cuz the fans from your new city are excited about your new team. so its really fun with owner mode and the offseason and everything is awesome in that game. hope nba 2005 will be almost good. cuz in reality it will take maybe another year for nba to be as good as madden(even tho i know they are 2 different sports). they are both good in certain ways but this years dunk contest will put nba 2005 at the top of my list.

But the only problem with that is that some people only want to focus on GM/President of Basketball Operations tasks, and that individual doesn't have to worry about those things. That's why it's always a good idea to be able to toggle things like that, especially if focusing on the basketball side of things and neglecting the business/financial tasks would end the game as the team went bankrupt.

I think it's interesting and I guess if it was in the game I'd give it a shot and I might even get addicted to the concept, but all the same it should be a seperate feature that can be turned on and off. It seems Madden has that feature, so I assume NBA Live would do the same thing.

Also, and I could be wrong about this, but it seems that it's something more suited to simulating seasons. When you're playing the games (or at least most of them) in Dynasty Mode, you're usually focusing on the coaching and gameplay aspects so with ticket prices and merchandise sales there would be a lot to keep track of, especially for people who just want to play the actual games a lot.

It might also work better with Madden, seeing as though there are fewer games in the NFL season (or am I thinking of something else?).

Yea, the NFL season is 16 games (plus a wildcard round, and then 2 more, then the superbowl)

I thought it would be a lot to handle too, but on the financial side you don't do much during the season (other than worry about advertising and Fan Appreciation day, and checking how much money you've made.) Between games I spend 5 minutes checking the injury list, the depth charts of the next team, players of the week/pro bowl players/award winners. Most of the financial is taken care of in the owner mode offseason where you decide on tickets, concession, merchandise, parking, advertising, sign coaches, improve your stadium, relocate the team. It's awesome.

he is right, almost all the financial stuff is handled dureing the offseason. only a couple things you do dureing the season but nothing major. infact the stuff you do dureing the season actually makes playing the season more interesting imo.

very true. i love madden 04 and cant wait for madden 05 to come out for pc. i love all ea games but my favourite are nba and madden. If it was in nba i think it wud be great to see the atlanta hawks without a lot of money to spend because of low attendance while teams like toronto or lakers who have a lot of attendance make a lot of money and buy anyone they want. You can turn the feature off in madden and just play the game as a coach mode (sort 0f). none of the financial things to worry bout. buh i doubt they will have any of these features in this years nba live but theres always next year lol.

ESPN 2k5 had all that mumbo jumbo in there and I could not play it because it takes up to much of my time.

I'd rather be playing the GAME more than be at the dynasty setting prices, IMO.

well the fact that you could turn it on/off is good. i am sure live would have that option also.

Like I said, I might very well be swayed. But sports sims all but require a high level of customisation, so it should definitely be an option that users can toggle - if they follow Madden's lead, there shouldn't be any problems there.

espn nfl had the training of players. it was way too in-depth, and very hard to stay interested in, so i only used it once. you had to run drills, rehab injuries, watch game film, do weight training, play scrimmages. the whole thing took about 20 minutes before the game.

but madden's owner mode is pretty simple, once you have a set price for your tickets, it's fine. you just have to make sure that they aren't too expensive or cheap, and then you just leave it there permanently. if you keep winning, you'll keep racking in the dough, and wont have to adjust them. you can upgrade your arena with things like a big screen monitor, or massage seats in the suites, and it helps with ticket sales. it really isnt as hard as it sounds, as i usually only go into the owner mode menu 3 or 4 times a season. plus it tells you what type of improvements you need to make to improve your roster, and if the fans are showing up. the best is the stadium builder/relocater. that would be great for nba live. i would finally move the clippers out of los angeles.

thats another thing i miss about madden when playing live. i miss the training camp. i liked running those drills to try and gain some extra skill points.

i did too, the hardest one for me, was the field goal kicker, cause i can't kick with the wind, i'm just horrible, but like andrew said, it should be an option. i would go through it.

Just a tip for the field goal kicking, when you're aiming give the kick less arc so that #1 it goes through faster, and #2 when it's close to the ground and going faster it's not as easily affected by wind.

I'd love to see Owner Mode in NBA Live 2006. But actually, I'd much rather have Storyline Central from Madden 2005. In Madden 2004, I was addicted to Owner Mode, but in Madden 2005 Storyline Central almost made me forget about Owner Mode.

the hardest drill for me was the CB one. where the cpu tosses a ball and you had to catc it/knock it down before it hit one of the dummies. i would always pass the drill on easy but if i tried med i would fail. i got punting down to a damn science so my punter was always highly rated(most come that way). my favorite one was the running one. i loved that.

ofcourse for a game like live you would need to have less drills otherwise you would have a chance to improve almost your entire team. hmm maybe that would not be a bad thing, instead of just simming a training camp make us have to take each player into a different drill to try and gain bonus stats(the natural progression still would take effect then the drills). for instance, instead of haveing 100 points to divide between 4 different catagories you would have to take each player into individual drills like pierce into a defensive drill to boost his skill there then take ricky davis into a shooting drill trying to win some bonus stats there. let the user pick what drill for each of thier 15(or less) players then you have to actually "win" the drills to get the bonus points.

eh maybe alot of you would hate it but i think it would be cool.

The hardest for me is the defensive line drill. Rookie is easy if you have a guy that's reasonably fast, pro is easy to get bronze on. But anything after that I find impossible unless I have freakin' Julius Peppers.

I also have some trouble with the WR drill, I get to the place in time but I frequently don't catch the ball or jump in the wrong direction any level after pro. The chase and tackle is very hard after pro (when the fb comes in.) And QB accuracy is very hard on all-pro and after.

I can get a bronze/silver for the cb drill on all-madden, just need to use the strafe button (R1 for me) alot. Running is awesome.

Mon Aug 30, 2004 12:22 am

yeah most of them got really hard once they added something new, like the FB or extra targets in QB comp. the other QB one is also easy for me i forgot about it my last post. either way i have fun with all the events.

Tue Aug 31, 2004 6:45 am

The pocket drill (is that still there) was the hardest for me. The Running drill was the easiest.

one thing stupid about Madden 2004 training camp, simming the camp gives better than playing it even if you beat all madden. I hope that was fixed in Madden 2005

Tue Sep 07, 2004 1:45 pm

well, i hope they get that fixed :? but to me, their training camp really did help me out, especially playing all-madden, i went 13-3 in the season with my dallas cowboys, and lost to eagles, by damn david akers freaking last second field goal. i lost in the nfc championship game, 27-24, but well, i thought i would be like 9-7 not 13-3, so it helped me out, what about u guys.

huh? There's isn't a 'sim training camp' option in my game (PC.) There's only skip training camp which gets you nothing.

Wed Sep 08, 2004 4:58 am

yeah that's right, they ask u do u want to play training camp to help your players ratings, or skip it, i usually play it.
