Sega/VC/ESPN has been putting out a better game for the past five years. When I bought 2K4, I saw a kid right in front of me with Live in his hand. I felt bad for him, because I knew he was just buying it so he could have any basketball game. Everyone is more familiar with the brand name "Live" so they buy it for the name, rather than the quality.
I've been with Sega since day one. Every year, it gets better reviews, and every year, sites such as IGN and Gamespot say that it's the best basketball game out there. I feel bad for the people who don't give it a chance, and think that Live's better because of it's Freestyle shit, which in my opinion sucks(I don't even use IsoMotion for ESPN; I change the controller configurations so the right thumbstick is used for passing).
The reason why Sega is putting a price drop on games is so people, even if they are EA fans, buy their games because it's so cheap. Then, once they realize it's better, they'll be hooked on ESPN/Sega and buy the game next year, and the year after. Sega might not have the rights to names such as Madden or Live, or come up with cheasy catch-phrases such as "Freestyle" but they've never let me down.
Even if ESPN games were $50, I'd still buy it over this Live shit you guys worship.
