I've been preaching for some sort of a feed back cycle to the Live series for a long time...
I wouldn't even have to be anything too dramatic or nice or fully laden with cut scenes etc.
My final thought on this is that you need a meter for player happiness. Then a way to have a conference with the player to find out about what he's happy and unhappy about or just a line of text that tells you his biggest concern or the thing that he's most happy about.
This would be nice if there was a coach feedback too. So your coach could tell you that he doesn't like this guy or likes that guy etc. Add to it the ability to hire/fire your coach, and you have a whole new ball game... A step closer to the real thing... Like if your coach doesn't like your star player and your star player doesn't like the coach, which would you fire/trade? And if the coach is liked by everyone else? Or if the coach wasn't too liked???
This would add an element which would possibly encourage people from picking up all the best players etc. This would steer a player away from creating teams full of superstars.
Also adding some sort of a maximum cap to go with the cap space would be welcome as well. If you aren't doing too good in the league your salary maximum would decrease a little and vice versa. So you would be looking to rebuild as you need players with lower contracts etc. To fit into your max cap...
These three relatively small changes would bring the Dynasty mode back to life and make playing the dynasty so much more intresting... And rewarding as it would be harder to build a championship team and the process would include all these other elements other then picking up the players with the highest ratings.
Also a welcome addition would be a veteran element... So the old guys wouldn't get useless as fast as they get now... I find my over 33 year old guys making room for young rookies at almost every turn... I really would like to see a 40 year old Reggie Miller and Gary Payton etc. still making an impact on the team by other means than actually playing good. Maybe the players of the veterans position would advance faster as they get guidance from someone who's been around the block and especially in areas where the veteran was good at (like Reggie Millers students would probably increase three point shooting, Paytons pupils would increase stealing, Rodmans pupils would probably increase Rebounding, Pippens pupils would increase passing and all around effort etc.) or something! I hate how all the old guys need to be dumped in order to get your team into contention for a title.
I'll end my rant here...
