players positions

I know it has already been addresed, but a thought that went through me mind:

How 'bout making the position of player decieded by his height, weight and ratings ?

It isnt that simple, but maybe some system based on calculating certain ratings in comparison to other or somthing of that nature.

Also it might be possible to implant a position rating, so that auto-subs, and trades would be more realistic and all...

Maybe I'm not getting your idea, but there are always players that are bigger or smaller to the "standard" of their position. So, IMO, I don't think it would be possible.

well first of all the obvious - the computer will never understand that even if a player is a SF (or any other position), he can play PF or SG (or any other position than his original). cuz of that we witness things like having B.Wallace benched, since R.Wallace is, like ben, a PF - only a higher rated one, and so the lineup is Okur at C, sheed at PF, and the beast coming from the bench, instead of having both wallaces kicking ass...

this will improve more then just the computer arranged rosters, but also trading - since the computer will understand that a player whose natural pos is A(C/PF/...), has a better rating in pos B than a player for whom B is the natural pos.

kinda like the manager soccer sims...

get my concept ?

Absolutely, I do understand that. I thought you were referring to having ratings on forum posts in your last post though.
