Way too many blocks

Annoying and unrealistic.

Is there are a way to make a mod in which this issue can be solved? Having in sliders min. value for 'shot block ability' does not help :(

There's nothing we can do with this. You can just try other aiacts. You will find a topic with seushiro aiacts.

Do you know which one is best for limiting the number of shot blocks?

Did you lower both shot block ability and dunk/layup block ability?

Yes, i did! And still gameplay is awful. If guy who is defending your player is inch taller no way you can get shot off without some extensive dribbling.

It's unplayable, I'm over with it unless there is some kind of fix for that...

I guess you just have to use pumpfakes, fallaways, leaners, and adjusted layups more often then. I don't ever recall having that problem, though. Did you ever install an aiact mod that changes the animations, like Seushiro's?

i did install most latest seushiro's mod. and fadeaways don't wotk either. I tried to overlook it, butit's too much. I really wish someone can fix it. For user and for AI.

Is that what caused the problem? If so, I guess you have to uninstall it.

Try this. Make a backup of your aiact.viv file. Download the attached block.zip file and extract the block.act file. Import the block.act file into your aiact.viv file and play. Tell me if it's any different.

thanks I'll try it. really looking forward to it :)

EDIT: I tried it and looks much better! Finally I can get a shot over a taller defender! Big thanks!

Now my patched Live 2005 looks better than 2k9! Well, almost ;)

p.s. I never really played 2k9 lol

Sorry, I'm not very good at this. How do you import the block.act into the aiact.viv?

http://download.nba-live.com/index.php?act=view&id=14

Open aiact.viv with EAgraph
Use Tools->Import wizard
select Add files to external TAR archive
click add on the right
find and select the block.act file
click next and then click finished and your done.

Thanks, Pdub. That was a very good concise tutorial. I'll try out a game later and report my findings.

EDIT: So I've played a few games and I do notice a significant improvement in the blocking.

When I try this it gives an IO error 998. That happens after I select block.act to add, then click NEXT.

The original aiact.viv files from EA don't like EAGraph. You have to export every file and then create a new VIV first. Then you can import with EAGraph. Try bigGUI and see if it will import the file for you. Backup your file(s) first.

bigGUI doesn't read the aiact.viv, it throws an error (invalid header).

How do I create a new .viv? If I create a file, then open in EA Graph it gives a read beyond end of file error.

I cannot delete the pieces in the original aiact.viv.

Tried this:

- Create aiact.vev with bigGui
- Add .act after extracting them from original aiact.viv
- When click NEXT, access violation in module eagraph.exe

Try creating it with EAGraph. I believe the option is "create a new tar archive" or something.
