Strange Cheat

Fri Jun 24, 2005 1:11 pm

I was playing my Live Dynasty - My cavs one which is in Dynasty Stories.
Anyway i was changing my starters shoes and after I did this, their ratings went up?!?!?!?!

This is what happened:

C 62 to 64
PF 82 went to 84 or 83
SF Nothing stayed at 93
SG 60 to 64
PG 78 to 82

I havent checked if any actual stats go up(i dont think they do) but their overall ratings go up, and sometimes by 4 or 5!

Is it just me or does this happen to others also?

Ratings are recalculated whenever you enter Edit Player. Sometimes after training, players' overall ratings should be higher but aren't recalculated accordingly.

So......i dont get it?
The two main players who went higher were the two i just traded for and I didnt train them...
Unless im understanding wrong
:? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?

i've heard of players getting better or worse as primacy and such changes after a trade

It also happens when plays are injured, their overall gets recalculated with their adjusted ratings but doesn't change back when they are 100% healed. Additionally, it seems some of the default overall ratings weren't recalculated before the game shipped so some players do increase by default when you enter Edit Player.

Hey i just tried it and 80% of players when i go to change their shoes they go up in Overall Rating.
Weird.......

It'll happen no matter what you change in Edit Player...even if you just go into Edit Player then exit.

Doesn't changing the position change ratings drastically?
I don't get why this bug exists in almost any Live. Tell me, how in the world is it possible? It's been 2~3 Lives that had this bug...

Fri Jun 24, 2005 4:11 pm

because EA is lazy to fix it

Fri Jun 24, 2005 4:23 pm

Technically speaking it's not a bug so it's not a case of EA being too lazy to fix it. Ratings are weighted differently, so changing a player's position can recalculate a player's overall.

yeah ea is lazy but they make very good games!

But like Redd, he's 80 sth before dynasty started
Traded for him with Pacers...change shoe..becomes 60 something... :x

I've never seen a player drop 20 points in their overall, unless the game recalculates their overall while they're out with a serious injury.
