Can somebody PLEASE help me?!

Codebase Errors generally occur when the DBF files are corrupted or contain an invalid value. Have you edited any of the DBF files associated with your Dynasty in any way?

Nope. I just wanted to start a Dynasty, but when I simmed a little, it froze, I minimized, and got that messege.

Are you using a roster patch?

Thu Jun 02, 2005 11:01 am

well if it persist have the original databases restore from your cd via copy and paste

Yeah, I'm using yours with some rating edits of my own.

I've tested the patch in Dynasty Mode simulating and haven't encountered any Codebase Errors...did you make the changes in the dbf or from within the game? Also, have you installed any graphics updates?

I made DBF changes.

When I run your roster without my edits, it's fine, but when I transfer the edits from mine to yours, it becomes all gay nd crap.

Which program are you using to edit the DBF files? If you're using Excel, you may have saved the files incorrectly.

Yeah, I used Excel, how do I save them correctly then?

I'm not completely sure, I never use Excel because it's really easy to corrupt the dbfs. I always use DB Commander.

Yeah, but it costs $99, and I don't really wanna pay that much just to use something I would only use for NBA Live.

All I would need it for is to transfer player ratings...

Most of us have been using DB Commander without registration for years now. It's a nag, the program remains functional.

Yeah, I've been using it without registering too, but, I cannot use all the features, for example, the feature where it allows you to transfer records by columns. I used that feature before my evaluation copy ran out to transfer my fixed ratings to your rosters. Now, I don't know any other DBF editor that can do that, so I use Excel.

I think DBFViewer Pro might have similar importing capabilities. It's available from download.com.

Yeah, but after a 30-day period, I'll have to pay. :(

I'll try it though, thanks.

I'm not sure which (if any) features are disabled after DBFViewer Pro's trial period expires.

dbf commander became view-only when i didn't register. i use dbfplus now...it's freeware but i've only used it twice now so i dunno if it's good or not. it does allow editing ...in-line, in fact... but no SQL commands.

andrew, is your unregistered dbf commander view only? or can you still run SQL commands with it?

Fri Jun 03, 2005 11:46 am

I never run SQL commands on it, but I can still manually change values. That's all I need it to do.
