I might have missed a couple of the smaller suggestions here and there, for which I apologise. Please don't hestitate to tell me again and I'll be sure to do them before they slip my mind. ;) I've changed a lot of ratings as I already mentioned in my quick progress reports, but that doesn't mean I'm done updating ratings for the season. At the very least, I hope that the ratings are in better position for adjustments, but I feel they're more accurate now, notably rebounding and awareness ratings.

You know the drill by now. Download it, install it, use it, and hopefully enjoy it. Then make suggestions for the next one. ;)

Chris Duhon is titolar and is the best rookie for assist why have 52 overall?
Memhet Okur have 59 overall? 64 it was ok! The rimb is too low.....He's a good Center in NBA.......

ANDREW~~~~~~~

YOU ARE A BIG GUY~~~~~~~

The overall ratings are significant in trades, but I don't like to boost ratings just to increase overall ratings (or lower ratings to decrease the overalls) - that's how you end up with really overrated or underrated players. Duhon does rack up a fair few assists quite often, but he's not as good as Hinrich or Gordon. If a player isn't strong in a lot of areas, his overall rating does suffer. I still don't think Smith warrants a block rating that high just yet, but I didn't actually lower it. In the default rosters, it was only 10.

Sat Jan 08, 2005 9:00 pm

yea...EA dont really know much about the rookies in their ratings..
but then again...no one really would until they've played some games..

gw andrew!

Sat Jan 08, 2005 9:03 pm

Thanks Andrew!! You rock! 8-) Keep up the good work!! (Y)

Sat Jan 08, 2005 9:11 pm

ok Andrew Thanks!

Andrew,

I've taken a look-see through the ratings and my first major nitpick is that Emeka Okafor is too low in general. I believe that he leads all rookies in double-doubles and he's playing extremely well. I'm not saying that you should bump him up to KG proportions but he should be in the low 80's along with Amare Stoudemire.

Amare Stoudemire should also be bumped up. He's playing awesome ball and he should be around 86 in the overall area.

Thanks for putting MJ back in the Legends roster. Were you able to add audio to the database for him? Like, will the announcers call his name? I have an idea in mind and it'd be better if they would announce it.

Other than that, great release. (Y)

Sun Jan 09, 2005 12:39 am

don't think andrew can do anything about the audio :D

Sun Jan 09, 2005 12:40 am

andrew,

i downloaded your latest roster update, have you export the data to a file that's easier to read, without all the unnecessary data for a text roster update.i remember that you said that u can do that.if its not included in your last roster update, can u please email me the file at munky0705@yahoo.com

tnx for the roster updates and more power...

btw,do you have any changes in your sliders that you posted?especially the dunk vs layup, kobelive suggested it to be 3

Sun Jan 09, 2005 1:50 am

Andrew, I think Kobe Bryant's def rebounding should be about 65, maybe?

Sun Jan 09, 2005 4:58 am

Hi Andrew,

Boris Diaw is deserves a much higher dunk rating than the 20 he has.
He won several Slam-dunk contests... like in the French ASG in 2002 and in the Adidas Summer Camp in 1999.

Thx for this great patch ! :)

Sun Jan 09, 2005 8:13 am

hey andrew!!
amazin patch as always, great new ratings and sub-patterns!!
shaq's kneepads are pretty trivial, but I guess thats one of the few missing details. :P
cheers

Sun Jan 09, 2005 8:38 am

Thanks for the patch, its nice. I love the generated faces of ewing, robinson and stockton (though closeup its more like hornacek). Barkley needs adjustment, he had more round face and even though there isnt a setting for that, it can be set with other settings so. Also MJ is way wrong, beginning from his skin tone and ending with his most facial features. There are some better caps out there.

But as far as ratings go, its superb on current NBA level. I disagree with Penny as 90s all star starting PG in default, and his overall is way too high for those couple of hilight years he had. The guy had past 20ppg only for three seasons in a row, and ever since 97 he has been 16 or less. Nevertheless, Tim Hardaway deserves a spot in my opinion (as a sub PG, Stockton as the main guy)...

Also, in sliders I think the user steals should be far less. I dont think Im that good at reaction, but with game speed 35 and user steals right up there, I grabbed no less than 14 steals with Stockton in AS90s vs AS80s game. Penny had eight.

Also MJ deserves some extra ratings for 3PT. He had about 40% as an average during 90's. MJ had similar 3PT style as Kobe has right now. Kobe is about 33% past three years and is on 32% this season. Mike was better four seasons in a row than Kobe is past three years. Kobes best 3pt season had 124 3pm with 38%, MJs best, 50% was in his short season with 16 out of 32, but his full season best was two years in a row with exactly 111 3pms, first having 42% and the second one with 37%. Mike has 62 in your rosters, Kobe is on 75. Either one is underrated or another is overrated. MJ even did 30% being 40 years old, but this IS 90s all star team ;)

Pippens 3pt is also much underrated, he was much more constant than even MJ (though in many seasons MJ had higher percentage). It was Pippen who did past 150 3pm's for two seasons in a row with 37% as an average.

I also agree with Ben Gordon thing and Duhon one by JoeBlask.

Also, Reggie should have at least FT as 95 minimum, Hes one of the most constant good shooters from the line ever, and one of the best currently (Nash) should be lower than Miller was in the 90s.

I also think that Olajuwon should be in 90s, he had his best seasons in 90s (even if it kills C amount in 90s all stars).

Likewise Tom Chambers should be in 80s, who did his best seasons in the 80s. He did less than 10ppg in 90s, and his best seasons in 90s were 90 and 91 with 19 and 16 ppg. Not in my book as one of the top from that decade... He had 19 point average in 80s, for eight seasons. He belongs with Bird and not with Shaq and Hill.

Barkley had his best seasons in 80s, but he rocked in 90s as well. Though he should be much less athletic in 90s as he was in 80s (currently he is as if from 80s), more weight and more rebounds.

Also, Shaq is overrated in 90s all stars. His time really goes to next all stars teams, to Millennium ones. He plays too much like his playing now, in 90s all stars, and not the way he got famous for in the first place in Magic. If hes to be 90s all stars, he needs less weight, and more dynamic gameplay. Even in Jordans last Bulls days, Shaq even shot sometimess from mid positions and dared to dribble. 90s. Shaq shouldnt be past 90 in overall. Robinson and Ewing did much more in 90s than Shaq did. So did Olajuwon. If there can be three top centres in 90s all stars, Id not list Shaq among them. His starlight came really at the end of 90s and now. I remember articles form 95 or was it 96 where all star players were discussed, Olajuwons fading jumpshots, Robinsons killer shooting and Ewings mastermind basketball... And Shaq as a promising young star. 90s wasnt his, Millennium is.

Also, be serious and do something with Grant Hills FG. The guy did near 50% all his seasons in 90s...

Well, yeah my suggestions are based on all star teams (thanks to the fact that you decided to add legends and updated ratings). Im myself from 90s, so to speak, followed nearly every event since 92 up until 99 season (after which my country decided that its not worth to keep ordering NBA games or shows). Also Im a stat freak and collected many cards from the time (I still have MJs last bulls card :) ). 90s was my NBA heaven, so I think you can see why Im so concerned about 90s all stars :)

And no I dont think Chambers and Spud Webb as originally MJ and Stockton replacements deserve their spot. Even GLen Rice does, but no not them. Chambers from the 80s and Spud, well, is Spud.

Thank you, youve made an absolutely fabulous patch!

Matt Bonner needs better FG and 3 pt ratings. He's in the mold of Marshall (tall 3/4 tweener who can shoot from long range) but an even better shooter. Jump shots are 71% of his offensive game and he's hits those at a very good 55% clip. (to put things into prespective, this is so ridiculously high...Dirk only hits 43.6% of his jumpers). FG should be in the high 70s, 3 pt in the 50s (3 pt stats are slightly misleading).

Tierre Brown still needs a boost in the FG and 3 pt department. He hits jumpers at a very respectable 45% clip.

Hey Andrew,

Great Roster Patch, I was just wondering why you keep making Glen Rice a referee in the team colum of players.dbf.

Unfortunately not. As usual, it doesn't seem like the audio can be modified.

I admit, they're not a tremendous likeness, but I was hoping I'd get some suggestions for tweaks to the facial features, etc. ;) If anyone wants to contribute cyberfaces for inclusion with the roster, even better. (Y)

Thanks for the other suggestions regarding ratings, too. :)

I haven't done that yet, but can and will do now that I've finished 1.04.

Hey Andrew,

Great Roster Patch, I was just wondering why you keep making Glen Rice a referee in the team colum of players.dbf.

By request, I filtered out the players who are retired or highly unlikely to see action this season. Since Rice hasn't officially retired, is rated fairly low and may pop up again, I can move him back to the FA if you like.

Sun Jan 09, 2005 5:28 pm

Well thats cool dude, whatever is better for you! (Y) I just end up putting him back on the fa list anyways :)

Sun Jan 09, 2005 10:51 pm

Isn't Eschmeyer retired yet!? I thought he retired, but is still in the FA pool.
The birthyear of Dampier is 1975 not 1974.

Have you changed the salaries for different players who signed new contracts or contract extensions or are these the one from EA??

Mon Jan 10, 2005 12:42 pm

I guess I forgot to move Eschmeyer to Team 38, he did indeed retire. I'll fix Dampier's DOB.

I do need to update some contract information.

Mon Jan 10, 2005 3:03 pm

I think Deke's free throw rating should be bumped up a lot more - he's actually shooting 83% this season

Mon Jan 10, 2005 3:40 pm

Alan Henderson seems to have accidently been put on teamID = 40 (instead of the Mavs = 5)....this is in the uninjured patch (not sure about hte rest)....cheers

Mon Jan 10, 2005 3:59 pm

Double-checked that strider, and it doesn't seem to be the case in the dbf. He should be on the Mavericks roster.

Mon Jan 10, 2005 5:42 pm

Hi Andrew excuse me for another reply
But I think that Josh Smith needs some more points in Block , because 30 is very low.....minimun 50...He is 18th shootblokers in NBA.....
Excuse me but he's my favorite players......

And Can u review other rookies please?

Excuse me again! :D :D :D
