.:.donatello's patch thread.:. Chris Andersen

Fri Dec 17, 2004 6:22 pm

Okay, so I was really tired last night and thought my MJ was WAY better than it was. I'll leave a link to it. It's not horrible- but it sure isn't great.

Added Chris Andersen- who I've seen requested, but I don't think anyone has made.

I think it's good, and I plan on releasing. As long as anyone agrees.

I downloaded some plug-ins for photoshop and made a new hair texture. I couldn't get his hair to be spiky, it would just fold up on his head- I'm guessing that's what a headshape editor would be for.

Link to my Jordan ( (N) ):

they kinda look more like Generic Faces :P

but hey good to see u trying stuff man....unlike a certain someone who gave up after his first attempt

Your kit editing is awesome, I love the kits u created for your Kansas City Knights dynasty....maybe U could start creating fantasy jerseys for NBA teams. :D

i appreciate the comment, i guess. but most of the patches look way over sharpened to me. i don't like that look.

Ea's looks more detailed....keep trying

Sat Dec 18, 2004 2:56 pm

i'm not being stuck up about my patch here, cause i know i'm just a rookie....but yes, EA's looks more detailed. but it doesn't look like andersen. he has very smooth skin.

Sat Dec 18, 2004 2:59 pm

i think they look the exact same but great job keep it up but next time try to use pics that ea didnt use.

Thank you- it was really nice to get a comment that was honest and helpful.

Not like getting no comment at all- just wanting me to share the name of a plug-in, thanks for reading it through and not even giving the response "hi" would--

Well like Andy said, it looks like EA's but yours has less detail...

Wow, a couple patches into your career and you're already immune to crticism? If you can't take the bad with the good, don't bother posting your patches. I've been patching for almost 2 years and I still have patches that some people think are shit, but others that are really well receieved. You can't change someones opinion, just accept it.
Your Andersen patch looks very similar to the default, but looks less defined (notice I didn't say detailed). The picture you used probably wasn't that great, but after you play around with PhotoShop for a while, you'll learn your own way to get around that.
However long you patch, whether its two weeks or two years, any patch you make will still be criticized (unless your name is Tony  ) and you have to be able to take it. It will make you a better patcher.

no, merely just commenting :)

it's not that can't take criticism, it's that i don't think it's mixed with the right encouragement here. and that's my fault for expecting something different- and i don't really want to take the time to do this for the result i've seen. LET ME STRESS THAT I'M SAYING THIS IS ME- NOT YOU GUYS. so i'll probably keep trying here and there, but i won't expect any responses like i wanted before. thanks guys
