signing players once over the cap

Mon Nov 01, 2004 5:29 am

In Live 2004, it was easy to see who was available to sign during the season if you were over the cap. Any player rated under 59 would sign for one year for "minimum". In my 2005 dynasty, i can't figure out who i can sign on to fill out my roster now that I'm over the cap. Nobody seems to be asking for "minimum", and i can't figure out what the game considers an acceptable salary for a cap exception. Can i sign one year contracts for under 300,000? 400,000? 1,000,000 for vets like in the real NBA? A primer on how the game handles cap exceptions in dynasty mode would be appreciated.

If I'm not mistaken, 385k is the new "minimum" salary. If you sort the free agent list by asking price, you'll see that 385 is the lowest that the list goes. No idea if you can go lower than that, but that's what I noticed. :)

in my dynasty, i try to sign brevin knight. he's asking 985k but i was over the cap. then his agent reply said that brevin knight didn't look at the money but see a good future in my team.
