HALL OF FAME improvements in DYNASTY MODE

Mon Jun 21, 2004 4:17 pm

The hall of fame in Dynasty mode should also have the retired jerseys of players from non- user controlled teams. This will really give players a greater sense of achievment when playing the dynsty mode.

EA could do this by keeping track of all player achievments (all star selection,MVP, first/second team selections,etc.).

The game should also keep track of all player achievments prior to the 2005 season.

For example, Shaq has been selected in the NBA 1st/2nd team, Allstar team a couple of times, Finals MVP 3 times. When Shaq retires in, let say 2009, the game will read all credentials prior to the 2005 season plus credentials after the 2005 season. This in part will make Shaq a hall of famer, even though the Lakers (???) are not a user controlled team.

Also in the Hall of fame, all stats could achievments are posted and could be viewed.

I'm all for additional stats and records in Dynasty Mode. It's not the most important element, but it would be a nice extra.

it would be cool if the hall of famers could come out of retirement (as their prime years) and form teams with only retired player not necessarily from the same era but just retired and challenge the champion team you have.

Imagining Jordan, Russell, Chamberlain, Bird, and Magic

or Oscar, West, D. Rob, Barkley, Erving
or the Dream Team challenging all comers i.e. any any team, any champion or any group of players in 5 on 5

the alignments are endless just an idea, what do you guys think?

I like the idea of players coming out of retirement alot :D (Y) .....but i dont know about the rest of it

That wouldn't be very realistic. That's something that's best left up to the user, making their own changes through the roster management features. I wouldn't mind see playings coming out of retirement after a season or so though, or having the option to bring back a player who has retired the previous offseason. It might be a good way to solve the problem of early retirements.

It was never meant to be realistic, obviously having Oscar Robinson join with other retired or dead players is not realistic. It was just an idea for replay reason and a change from the regular modes.

When you talk realism you have to start with gameplay issues then work from there, which is why I like Live much better than ESPN. Live has been getting the gameplay tight while ESPN seems to work mostly on the added features. Gameplay is the most important to me. Ea allows the user to actually feel as though they are in full control of the team and players where as ESPN seems to work on you giving directions to your players as you watch them execute your command, i.e. shoot, crossover, rebound as I coomand you not as I have control. Anyway, I am really off topic now forgive me.
