retiring jerseys

Sat May 15, 2004 5:27 am

one of my big nitpicking problems with the live 2004 dynasty mode is that it hardly ever retires jerseys when big-name players retire. i started with a fantasy draft, and one of my picks was lebron james. he ended up winning mvp 6 times in his 13-year career (all with my team)...but the computer didn't retire his jersey--but it retired chris kaman's, who played 5 seasons with my team, he did make the all-defensive 1st team a couple times, but come on....

i think that the PLAYER should be able to decide to retire a jersey.

Agreed, plus I would like to be notified when a team is retiring jersey's of their franchise player and/or important players.

Plus, I would like all jersey's to show in the retired section, not only players of my team. :?

One more little thing: They sometimes change the numbers of a player when that number is already taken, but say I get a worthless guy with the number 34, you can't Shaq's 34 to accomodate the worthless kid's 34. I wished they would change the numbers according to the player's ratings. :?

I agree with everything posted so far. I'd like to be able to retire the jersey numbers of my choice, even if they did not belong to the most significant player. Take the Boston Celtics for example. They have retired the jerseys of not only the best players in franchise history, but also some of the best number two and number three guys on their best squads.

I would also like to see a list of retired jerseys, and for the retired jerseys to remain retired (ie those numbers cannot be assigned by the CPU or the User). I won't grumble if retired numbers can still be assigned, but it would be a nice touch.

it will be nice to can't wear a "number retire" in NBA teams like 23.4 in chicago ; 32,33,44,13 in los angles lakers etc

because when i make some trade ,the bulls have a player with the #23

That does suck, but my question is...........
James only played 13 years???
so he retired at 31!
wow what happened to him lol.

oops that was a typo, brain fart, whatever- my fault. he played 16 seasons. which still isn't much. that's another complaint i have--some guys retire at like 35, or even younger.

also, another complaint, some guys who aren't superstars, but are still good players, end up never being picked up by a team. i think it was ron mercer who i noticed most recently. he just sat there on the free agent market for like 8 years or something requesting the same salary, and no one ever picked him up
