Appearance editing...

Ok, so I have both the roster patches for the current season and the one for the 1991 season. For some reason, the rosters for the 1991 season include on the 50s all-star team, George Mikan. What I am trying to do is put Mikan in the current season's 50s all-stars team. So I copied his line in players.dbf into the other players.dbf, and changed his playerID so as not to conflict with other players. I then took his corresponding line in the old apperances.dbf and copied it into the new one, and adjusted the appearancID(or whatever that column is called) to match the new playerID I gave him in the new players.dbf(sorry if this is confusing). Anyway, what happens is, when I load the rosters up, Mikan is there, and most of the appearance stuff is right, but his height and weight are completely wrong. Like 6'2' 180 pounds.

What is going on?

Also, I did the same thing with Jerry West, but when I play with him in a game, his body is white and his head/face is black. What is that?

This happens occasionally when I was creating a roster. It has happened to others also. It seemed to happen most when I copied records. I create frequent backups when editing so I can go backwards and start again. My solution was to create the new player (Mikan) in the game. Print the record for the old player. Then edit the records for the new player using your DBF editor. Once a datbase file is corrupted I could never fix it. You need to start with a known good roster.
