Cant get out of debt on live 05-ps2

Postby lbjandai on Mon Jun 06, 2005 6:12 am

Well first of all this seems like a PC board, and i cant find an active nba live board for consoles. so i am doing it here (anyone know one or this place still good for consoles?)

BUT ANYWAYS, SO I CANT GET OUT OF debt. I am the wizards and have only been able to resign like one guy and then no trades or free agent signings for me. if i release players i thought that that meant that there salary would still hurt me. So im not sure what to do. Im not at -6.56 or somethin, i was at -5 in the first year then -4 b4 the draft this year, but now im a -6 for the FA signings.

HELP

1. Trade some players to a team with cap space in return for players with low salaries. This usually means taking rookies or younger players.

2. After a few years, this doesn't work because all teams go over cap. In that case trade your expensive guys for expiring contracts (ie, they have only 1 year left on them). It won't help you this year, but next year you'll have cap space.

i think clearing the cap is pretty useless. Most of the teams are so over the cap that even if the trade/clear some big contract players, they'll be JUST under the cap or barely over the cap. This leads to.... nothing, with that kind of cap, you can't sign a good player to make up for the expired player you traded away or didn't resign. There's no point of clearing. As long as you are resigning players, you can go as deep in the debt as you can. what i do is just keep trading for the players i want, i don't sign players. Another thing is that, almost always, the good free agents will resign with their old team, so even if you had the money, you can't sign them.

edit:
but it is always good to have less debt to make yourself feel better about your job. I do sometimes try not to gain more debt when i trade players.
