New Video Card

Postby iKe7in on Tue Mar 08, 2005 11:08 am

Because my Geforce 4 MX 64mb card is now a thing of the past, and I can only run MVP on the lowest detail settings, I'm going to upgrade to a Geforce 4 128mb card. Is this a worthwhile move? It's not very expensive, only $130, but should I be able to run both MVP and Live on the maximum settings?

My suggestion is to at least invest in an FX series video card, preferrably a GeForce FX 5600 (or ATI 9600 Pro) if you want to max out your settings. I had an FX 5200 back then and I had to compromise resolution settings for video quality settings. It was the same case as for the rest of my games (kotor 2, battle for middle earth, doom3) so I had to grab a mid line video card.
Athlon XP 3200+
MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR
Geil Dual Channel 768MB DDR RAM
Sapphire Radeon 9800 XT
RAID 0 on Seagate Barracuda 2x80GB SATA HDD

skip the FX series..it's pure garbage.
I wouldn't a Geforce4 at this point cuz it's just too dated and doesn't have dx9 capabilities.

If you're gonna go with a card for around that range..see if you could at least get a 9600XT or 9600pro.
