Franchise Question

Postby mortalsoul3 on Fri Mar 04, 2005 5:18 pm

In Live 2005's Dynasty Mode, do star free agents still sign one year minimum contracts with cpu-controlled franchises, then bounce from team-to-team each offseason as in earlier Live editions? Thanks.

nope i think it's worst, they stay at the free agent for the entire season since every team are over the cap

You mean they "stay" unsigned and sit-out the entire season? What . . .?!?!

Yes, that is correct. Seems like it's either big bucks or no bucks for them... Maybe they go into baseball until next season starts

That bites. Capped out teams should be able to sign and trade for free agents or sign free agents who want to play elsewhere and deal them away. What ever happened to "if it's in the Game, it's in the game"?

lol yea

but its tru. i thought it was awesome how bad teams signed big name FA. but then i realized wat would happen. wat happens is that the bobcats sign like 5 ancient all stars (antoine walker, GP, karl malone type players)... and then they go way over the cap and thats their team. only the horrible teams that r under cap improve their squads... the good teams basically stay the same. u kinda hav to take action urself, make some trades, change the league up a bit. its still fun tho

i havent had this problem on the ps2 when players dont get sign after the signing period is over i noticed if the players old team still has roster pace it will sign with them even if they are over the cap. 8-)

Yeah, the really good players sign with their old teams, but there are guys with overalls of 70 or even little over that are good players and stay unsigned cause no one has the cash to sign them...

The game lacks the mid-level exception that enabled Lakers to get Malone and Payton almost two years ago... If it would be implemented into the game it would be nice and cool and would enable you to sign some free agents that were willing to go that low.

The only reason Malone & Payton signed so low was to get a freebie ring, they wouldn't have signed for that much with any other team (at the time, right now Payton would sign with anybody).

I don't think the game AI takes those really subtle considerations into account.

But yeah overall it would be nice to see some more trades happening between computer teams.
