Over the last few days, I have been experimenting with NBA Live 2005 trying to find the best and most realistic for the best game play. I then decided to RE-Do All of the player ratings, as EA done a pathetic Job of it, well I done it then played a 12 minute quarter, it was the best quarter i have played on this game yet. Realistic scores, fouls, points etc, and the players who are supposed to get more touches do. First here's a few of the most important ratings to be edited.
Def. Awareness
Key
0- Poor/Average defender. (Milt Palacio, Tracy McGrady, Steve Nash etc)
50- Good defender (Josh Howard, Eddie Jones, Jason Kidd etc)
99- Excellent defender (Ron Artest, Big Ben, Tayshaun, Bowen etc)
Off Awareness
I put 99 for this on every player, because I was fed up of the retarded decisions the CPU makes on a regular basis.
Shot Blocking
Stayed pretty much the same, except every guard I put to 0 apart from those real good shot blocking guards which were set at 5 and no higher. This gave the game a much more realistic feel on the blocking end.
Speed/Quickness
I adjusted speed ratings accordingly, except, I out virtually all PF-C speed to zero, only those with great foot speed (K.G, Ben Wallace, Shaqs for his size etc) I put to between 10 and 15. I just adjusted to how I fast I feel they are in real life, but no PF OR C was over 20 in speed barring maybe about 2 players.
Jumping
Basically the way I done this, was to find as many players STANDING vertical leaps and set their jump as that, for example Josh Smith was at 85 or something for jumping, but I set it to 38 as in 38” inches for his standing vertical leap, it resulted in better shot blocking, rebounding numbers, as you really have to choose carefully for who you want to grab the “Game wining rebound” etc.
There were a few other tweaks I made, but I will post my rosters tomorrow; so far, the teams I have edited are;
-Pacers
-Kings
-Houston
-Boston
I will post them tomorrow, also my sliders as well.
Please don't knock any of my adjustments, just try them first, and if you don't like them. fair enough.
